Totally agree putting your child in any kind of flotation device defeats the whole objective of becoming pool safe. I wish they were banned.!!!

Congratulations to all our swimmers!!

What Parents Don't See... 💙

Confessions of a Swimming Teacher

You don't see the early “at the pool” setting up before lessons.

You don't see the hours of planning, adapting every lesson to suit every child.

You don't see the endless chants of "Kick, kick, kick!"… you say it’s too loud or distracting all that pool noise 🤦‍♀️

You don't see the badges written, the encouragement given, or the quiet moments spent rebuilding confidence after a tough lesson.

You don't see the tears we hide when a child who was once terrified finally swims on their own.

You don't see that we don't just teach swimming—we build confidence, celebrate every tiny achievement, and help children learn a skill that could one day save their life.

You only see 30 mins in the pool.

We see the journey.

And we care more than you'll ever know. 💙🏊‍♀️

Congratulations Chad you are a super star!!!

CHAD LE CLOS MAKES HISTORY! 19 MEDALS AND NOW THE MOST DECORATED MALE ATHLETE IN COMMONWEALTH GAMES HISTORY! 🇿🇦🏊‍♂️🔥

What a moment for Chad le Clos. What a moment for South Africa. 🇿🇦

Our swimming legend has officially written his name into the Commonwealth Games record books, winning the 19th medal of his extraordinary career and becoming the most decorated male athlete in the history of the Games.

Chad helped South Africa claim bronze in the men’s 4x100m freestyle relay in Glasgow, completing the race in 3:13.99 alongside Pieter Coetzé, Guy Brooks and Ruard van Renen, with Kris Mihaylov having helped the team qualify through the heats.

That bronze medal took Chad beyond the previous record of 18 medals and lifted his remarkable Commonwealth Games collection to:
🥇 7 gold medals
🥈 4 silver medals
🥉 8 bronze medals

From winning his first Commonwealth medals as a teenager in Delhi in 2010 to standing alone at the top of the record books 16 years later, Chad’s journey has been built on courage, consistency, resilience and an extraordinary determination to keep going.
South Africans have watched him win, fight back, overcome setbacks and return to the podium again and again.

Today, Chad le Clos is not simply another medal winner.

He is a Commonwealth Games history maker. 🌍🏆

Congratulations, Chad. Nineteen medals. One extraordinary career. One enormously proud nation. 🇿🇦💚💛

(PLEASE KNOW THIS CHILD SURVIVED)

14 seconds.

That's how long this child was in the water before anyone realized what had happened.

This image is a powerful reminder of how quickly and silently drowning can occur.

1- The children were supposed to be out of the pool.
2- One adult was actually in the pool.
3- One adult was tending to another child.
4- One adult was sitting just feet away.
YET NO ONE HEARD THE CHILD ENTER THE WATER!

Notice the flotation device left on the deck. Many children who regularly wear flotation devices have not yet developed the skills to save themselves if they enter the water without one.

Thankfully, this child survived. Tragically, many others do not.

We are not posting this to shame anyone. It's about understanding that drowning doesn't look or sound the way most people expect. It is often silent, and it can happen in seconds—even when adults are nearby.

That's why we stress layers of protection: self-rescue swim lessons, barriers, active adult supervision when children are in or near the water, and never relying on flotation devices.

It only takes as little as 21 seconds to lose a child to a drowning. PLEASE DO NOT LET YOUR CHILD BECOME A STATISTIC.
