Getting an iron infusion was the best investment I’ve ever made in myself 👇
Here’s what iron deficiency actually looks like:
In your running 🏃♀️
• Your heart rate is stupidly high for how easy you’re going (mine sat at 170+ on a jog 💀)
• You’re slower and slower no matter how hard you train - like your fitness is going backwards
• Easy runs leave you completely wrecked
• You can’t hit paces that used to feel normal
• DNF after DNF, and you can’t figure out why
• Recovery takes forever
• You’re breathless on climbs that never used to touch you
• Legs like lead. Heavy. Dead. No pop.
• You start to actually dread running 😔
In your life 🌙
• You physically cannot get out of bed
• Tired all day, every day, no matter how much you sleep
• Brain fog - everything feels slow and fuzzy
• Dull skin that keeps breaking out
• Hair shedding more than usual
• Freezing cold all the time, especially hands and feet
• Brittle nails
• Low mood, flat, just… not yourself
• Weirdly craving ice, or dizzy when you stand up (a weird one for me was that I could not drink room temperature water, it had to be ice cold)
and here’s the other side - what you feel once it’s topped back up ✨
(give it a few weeks, it’s not instant 🕰️)
In your running 🏃♀️💨
• Your heart rate DROPS - mine went from 170 to 155, at a faster pace 🤯
• Paces you haven’t seen in months, back like they never left
• VO2 max climbing (mine: 44 → 47) 📈
• You recover fast and can actually train again
• Climbs feel runnable instead of survivable
• Legs have life in them again
• You remember why you loved this 🥹
In your life 🌞
• You wake up before your alarm, actually rested
• Energy that lasts the whole day (I stayed awake 38 hours hosting an ultra 😅)
• Skin glowing again
• Clear head, better mood
• Warm. Finally.
• You feel like yourself again 💛
The biggest comeback really is just making yourself feel like yourself again. Go get checked. 🫶
