On Saturday, 23rd of May, international referees Zoë Naudé (our founder) and Aimee Barrett-Theron hosted a girls-only junior referee course, with 17 girls in attendance.

This was a special day, created to provide a safe space for young girls and women to learn about refereeing while feeling comfortable to ask questions. It was a great opportunity for the girls to learn from two female referees who are strong role models, showing them that becoming a referee is possible.

At Girl Power Rugby Academy, we believe in creating opportunities for girls in rugby, and we see refereeing as a valuable pathway for them to follow.

A big thank you to for allowing us to use their facilities and providing a great space for learning.

Last week Friday we had the absolutely amazing opportunity to speak at to all of the girls about what we do.
Shoutout to our coach .xx from our branch repping them proudly!

They were so excited (more for the kitkats) and enthusiastic to hear about girls rugby and what we have to offer at our academy.

If you have a daughter, niece, sister, or any girl aged between 6-18 years old that is interested in rugby or touch rugby, come on down to any of our venues every Friday 4-5:30pm!

Our first GPRA Hamilton Sea Point RFC graduates are now playing for the senior Hamilton SP RFC Women team. We have watched them grow from enthusiastic juniors playing rugby for the first time, to senior players who joined the women’s team as natural fits. A full circle moment.

We are grateful to Tayla Faulmann who has been there from the start and been a vital part in tending to their growing careers.

Our Mixed Abilities Rugby sessions welcome girls, boys, and adults of all abilities aged 6–30. Whether you are new to rugby or already passionate about the game, this space is for you!

This is a safe and supportive environment where disabled and non-disabled players train together, learn from each other, and enjoy the social side of rugby.

Every Friday: 16:00–17:30

It was incredible to welcome new faces while also seeing many of our returning players back on the field. This year is going to be bigger and better than 2025, and we can’t wait to take you all on the journey with us.
