When the enjoyment is so tangible! Real! Visible… Then you know you are winning, because it's that look, it’s that picture that informs you that the job you are doing is a good one.

When a player enjoys their time with you, their improvement is exponential and their performance as a result skyrockets.

I absolutely love watching the different personalities come to life, come to the forefront, some humour and theatrics make the whole experience more enjoyable for everyone. And that builds into the team culture, and the social integration yields greater performance down the line..

When we formalize everything as a coaching dictator, we break those fundamentals. We want to reward this light, fun, humorous nature.

We want to allow space for our personalities to shine through.

The epitome of paradox, one player participating, enjoying, and dominating and the fielder in the background utterly bored out of his mind… Cricket offers so much for the body and mind but only to those that grab it, only to those that engage with the process.

Our ability to create something incredible is entirely dependent on the skill we yield with the tools we are given - that takes time, discipline and desire. That my friends makes all the difference.

There is so much happening in this picture. We often don't stop to realise all of the micro tasks our body is doing… The way sport, not just cricket, builds the body and mind for our little people are profound. The science is really clear on the overall long term benefits of encouraging sport.

So it's important to create a conducive environment to encourage and support play as much as possible.

Predictors of success have zero to do with talent or potential, but rather everything to do with time spent developing a particular skill. Now the speed in which that skill is developed is strongly linked with the enjoyment of performing that task...

The earlier we start, the stronger the foundation...
The more enjoyable, the faster the growth...
