It’s hard to put this weekend into words, because what I’m left with isn’t really a thought… it’s a feeling.

A very full heart. 🤍

Joy. Happiness. Love. Support. Connection. Emotion. The kind of feeling that stays with you long after everyone has gone home.

I keep thinking about something Gabor Maté speaks about how, in a world that constantly encourages independence, productivity and doing everything on our own, we can so easily lose touch with the importance of community.

But the need to belong, to care for one another, and to feel that caring energy coming back towards us… that is at the very essence of being human.

When I look back at my life, some of my happiest and most meaningful memories aren’t about what I achieved on my own.

They’re about people.

Laughing until my stomach hurts. Dancing with people I love. Feeling safe, seen and supported. Sharing moments that become memories we carry together.

That’s what this retreat gave me.

A reminder of how powerful it is to bring people together and create a space where we can simply be.

To move. To laugh. To cry. To dance. To be vulnerable. To be silly. To be strong. And to know that we don’t have to do any of it alone.

This weekend wasn’t just about dance.

It was about connection.
It was about belonging.
It was about giving and receiving love, support and energy.

And perhaps most importantly, it reminded me of something so simple, yet so easy to forget:

I’ve been thinking a lot about what Dance Yourself Happy has become, and I wanted to share something from the heart.

I created Dance Yourself Happy because I wanted to create a space where women could forget about the outside world for an hour.

A place to move.
To release.
To laugh.
To connect.
To feel confident.
To be completely themselves.

Because dance has always been so much more than dance to me.

It has been my voice, my release, my escape and my healer. It has carried me through difficult chapters and brought me back to myself more times than I can count.

And now I get to share that feeling with other women.

And that is something I feel incredibly lucky to do.

I still have my low days. I still have my own s**t to deal with. But dance gets me out of my head, helps me release what I’m feeling and brings me back to myself.

And the women who have walked through the doors of Dance Yourself Happy have given me something I spent a very long time searching for too:

Purpose. Belonging. Connection.

I genuinely believe this is my calling.

I want every woman who walks into that studio to feel like she has somewhere to belong. Whether you're confident or nervous, whether you've danced before or haven't danced since school, whether you come to escape life for an hour or simply because you want to have some fun…

there's a place for you here. ❤️
