KovsieSport Spotlight: Student Achievers 🏅✨
Today we celebrate two exceptional University of the Free State students who demonstrate what it means to compete with discipline and determination.
Caylin Majiedt (20) a second year law student delivered an outstanding performance at the SA National Kickboxing Championship in Oudtshoorn. The competition took place from 25 to 28 April, where the Free State team performed exceptionally well.
Caylin competed as part of the Lengau Martial Arts Academy under Sensei Brendan David Davis. Her contribution helped the team shine at the national level. She led the fighters with impressive results, securing six gold medals and one bronze medal.
Angelique Johnson (25) a first year medical student made a major impact at the same championship. Representing the Free State kickboxing team, she showed focus and resilience throughout the event.
Angelique followed closely behind the top performer, earning four gold medals and three bronze medals. Her achievements are a true reflection of her commitment and her ability to balance sport and the demands of medical studies.
The Free State team returned with a total of 31 medals, including 14 gold medals, 10 silver medals, and 7 bronze medals. This strong performance marked the squad as a powerful force during the SAKA National Championships.
Congratulations to Caylin and Angelique! 🙌👏
