🥎 MEET OUR NEWEST SOFTBALL INSTRUCTOR! 🥎

We’re excited to welcome Jadeyn Merrill to the 5 Tool Academy team!

Jadeyn is joining Ball State Softball as a graduate assistant coach for the 2027 season after wrapping up her Division I playing career at Western Michigan this spring—and she is now available for private lessons at 5 Tool!

Jadeyn brings a unique level of versatility to our athletes. During her four-year collegiate career, she:

• Hit .285 with 22 doubles, 10 home runs and 72 RBIs
• Played in 173 collegiate games
• Pitched 71.1 innings with 53 strikeouts
• Earned Second Team All-MAAC and MAAC All-Rookie honors
• Helped Western Michigan reach the 2026 MAC Championship title game

And we love what she brings to the game beyond the physical skills.

Jadeyn earned her degree in psychology and is pursuing a master’s in sport psychology at Ball State. She has a particular passion for helping athletes develop confidence and strengthen the mental side of their game.

We’re thrilled to have her at 5 Tool and can't wait to introduce her to our athletes!

⚾🌸 When baseball meets blooms! 🌸🥎

We absolutely LOVE seeing a little 5 Tool Academy at the Indiana State Fair!

We were thrilled to collaborate with our fellow Yorktown business, Buck Creek in Bloom, on their incredible floral display welcoming visitors to the Indiana State Fair Midway.

A huge thank you to all of our 5 Tool athletes who signed baseballs and softballs to become part of the display. Seeing those signatures — and some 5 Tool swag! — tucked among the amazing flowers makes this one extra special for us. 💚

And a big congratulations to Buck Creek in Bloom for creating such a fun, creative display and representing our Yorktown community on one of Indiana’s biggest stages!

If you're headed to the State Fair, be sure to look for it at the entrance to the Midway — and see if you can spot the 5 Tool touches! 👀⚾🥎🌸

We are about to kick off one of our favorite events - Challenge League!!

Registration is now OPEN!!

We will be scheduling voluteers very soon - please email [email protected] if you would like to volunteer.

With the move to Ball State, we will be incurring some additional costs so donations are even more critical this year. Please reach out to [email protected] if you or your company would like to sponsor this season!

For the past 13 years, Challenge League has been hosted on Wednesdays by Yorktown JAA at the Yorktown Sports Park. This season, our traditional Wednesday evening field time was no longer available. Thankfully, Coach Pena and Ball State Softball stepped forward.

We are incredibly grateful to Ball State Softball for opening the gates to their beautiful stadium and welcoming our league for the 2026 season. Thanks to their generosity, our players will continue enjoying Wednesday evening baseball—now taking the field at the Ball State Softball Stadium each Wednesday at 5:45 p.m.

Ball State Softball & Baseball have supported this league for many years, with coaches and student-athletes volunteering their time and creating unforgettable memories for our players. Their willingness to provide a home for the league this season is another example of the outstanding character and community spirit of BSU Athletics.

We can't wait to see our athletes experience the excitement of playing on a collegiate field. Thank you, Ball State Softball, for helping us continue a tradition that has brought so much joy to our kids and families.

Dates: Sept 9, 16, 23, 30
Time: 5:45 p.m. - games generally last about an hour
Location: Ball State Softball Stadium, 2800 W. Bethel Ave., Muncie, IN 47304
Ages: 4-18, up to 22 if still in school
Cost: $30 - scholarships are available to all athletes who request one - please make a note in the comments
Equipment - bats and helmets are available to share, but please bring your own glove if desired (not required)

⚾🥎 Be Part of the Indiana State Fair! 🥎⚾

5 Tool Academy athletes have a unique opportunity to leave their mark on this year's Indiana State Fair!

Buck Creek in Bloom is creating a large floral display with a baseball and softball theme. As part of the exhibit, they have invited 5 Tool athletes are invited to contribute an autographed baseball or softball to be incorporated into the display.

How to participate:
⚾ Sign a baseball or softball and drop it off at 5 Tool Academy
🥎 Or stop by the facility and sign a ball we'll provide
⚾ All signed balls must be received by June 22

What a fun way to celebrate the athletes, teams, and families that make our baseball and softball community so special!
