What an incredible day at the Central Community Branch!
Yesterday, we had the tremendous honor of welcoming Suzanne McCormick, President & CEO of YMCA of the USA, to our branch for a firsthand look at the impact our team is making every day in the Worcester community.
From the moment she arrived, Suzanne experienced what makes Central so special. She toured our Fuller Family Park, where our Summer Camp children were enjoying a safe, vibrant space to play, learn, and grow all summer long. They played in the splash pad, basketball courts, and in the field.
She also saw firsthand and heard about the innovation happening inside our walls:
- Our Print Shop, where teens are learning valuable workforce and entrepreneurial skills while producing high-quality products for the community.
- Our CafΓ©, which provides nutritious meals while creating meaningful job training opportunities for young people.
- Our Wellness Center, where members of all ages are working toward healthier lives.
- Our Aquatics Program, helping individuals build confidence, learn lifesaving skills, and stay active through swimming.
Most importantly, Suzanne met the incredible staff, volunteers, and young people who bring our mission to life every single day. Their passion, dedication, and commitment to strengthening our community are what make the Central Community Branch such a special place.
Thank you, Suzanne, for taking the time to visit and for your continued leadership of the YMCA movement. We are proud to showcase the innovative work happening here in Worcester and remain committed to strengthening our community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
The best is yet to come!
