FINAL FROM MIAMI.

Howard closes its South Florida trip with a 5-1 loss to FIU on Sunday afternoon.

Senior forward Alauna Rutland provided the Bison goal in the 51st minute, her first of the season. The Fairfax, Virginia native and St. Paul VI alum led Howard’s attack with a team-high four shots, including two on goal.

Trinity Knox finished with seven saves, while Ruby Lancaster added another in the closing minutes.

Howard moves to 0-2-2 on the season as the Bison return home looking to regroup.

MATCH DAY IN MIAMI.

Howard closes out its Florida trip this afternoon with a road matchup at FIU as the Bison look to turn a strong early stretch into their first win of the season.

Leading the way is freshman Dominique Desert. The Park Ridge, New Jersey native has started all three matches to open her Howard career and currently leads the Bison with 1 goal and 2 points. Desert scored her first collegiate goal against Hampton and was one of four Howard players to record a shot in the last match against FAU.

In goal, senior Trinity Knox continues to anchor the Bison defense. Knox has posted 27 saves through three matches, including 10 in Howard’s last outing, and was recently named NEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week.

Howard enters at 0-1-2, while FIU comes in at 0-2-3, still looking for its first win of the season. According to FIU’s official records, this is the first meeting between the programs since 2000.

THE BATTLE OF THE REAL HU RETURNS TO AUDI FIELD.

Howard and Hampton meet today in the second annual HBCU Women’s Soccer Invitational, bringing one of HBCU athletics’ most storied rivalries back to a professional stage.

The Bison enter the sixth meeting between the programs unbeaten in the all-time series at 4-0-1. Howard won last year’s inaugural Audi Field matchup 4-1, powered by two second-half goals from Match MVP Gabriella Garcia-Terrell.

Howard opened its 2026 season with a scoreless draw against George Washington behind a nine-save shutout from senior goalkeeper Trinity Knox. Hampton enters at 0-2 under first-year head coach Sam Cain and is searching for its first victory after close losses to Indiana and Temple.
