WISCONSIN DRONE DEER RECOVERY UPDATE‼️

Iv been working on a side project the last few months. This system allows me to remotely operate a drone from anywhere with internet connection. Excited to show what we’ll be doing with it this fall.

Results are in 72 deer located in one survey!

What did we learn from this?
-Way more deer than we expected to find.
-Wildlife is thriving off the clear cut areas (not just deer)
-Deer are not in the secluded areas

Lessons learned!!! Last month we made the mistake of pushing our equipment past its limitations. The Matrice 30T is IP55 rated and can handle rain, snow, & just about any weather condition in Wisconsin. However, when operating at night we attach a spotlight that isn’t IP55 rated. Over time through the spotlight connection, water made its way into the aircraft and grounded it.

This week we received our replacement M30T and obtained the new M4TD. The Matrice 4TD CAN fly at night in the rain with improved flight time and range 🥳! Only a couple pilots in Wisconsin can fly at night in the rain.

Excited to finish the season strong and begin land and property surveys after the season.

This buck was tracked with a dog the day before taking this video. Regardless, we were able to successfully locate him, diagnose where & how he was hit, all without disturbing his normal patterns.

Started the night with a successful search in Bancroft, however the buck was still alive. The second however was not, Congrats Austin Schiro on your Wood County buck! This is a great example of how long after expiration you can find deer with thermals. This buck was shot at 4pm Monday, 30 hours before we found him.
