The Wisconsin Rapids Riverkings sign Luka Svircic, a 2006 right‑handed forward coming to Rapids from the Quesnel River Rush (KIJHL).

Svircic previously played for the Spokane Braves and was traded to the Quesnel River Rush in the KIJHL. As a dual-citizen, Svircic represented Team Croatia and won a bronze medal at the IIHF U20 World Championship Division II, Group A tournament.

Svircic brings speed, compete, and a relentless motor to the Riverkings lineup—another strong addition as the team continues building toward a powerhouse 2026–27 season.

The Riverkings are excited to announce that Bora Yildirim will be returning to Wisconsin Rapids as the new assistant coach for the Riverkings NCDC Team. Fans will remember Bora as the former standout goaltender who played for the Riverkings. Following a record-breaking 2023-2024 season where he led the league in save percentage, he signed with the HK Gladiators Trnava in the professional Tipos SHL.

Yildirim put up stellar numbers with the Riverkings, securing several prestigious accolades:
• Record Save Percentage: He finished the 2023-2024 regular season with a remarkable .950 save percentage, which stands as an all-time best for a single season in the USPHL Premier.
• USPHL Awards: His performance earned him the USPHL Premier Fan's Choice Goaltender of the Year Award.
• All-Star Honors: He was named to the 2023-24 All Dan K Show Third Team alongside Riverkings Head Coach Paul Pechmann.

Following his highly successful junior campaign in Wisconsin, Yildirim made the jump to the professional ranks in Europe. He signed with the HK Gladiators Trnava, competing in the professional Tipos SHL until an injury sidelined his goal tending career.

Bora has a long history with developing young goaltenders through camps and clinics and we are excited to see his new venture with coaching juniors hockey.
