Those little purple patches aren’t just part of the reef — they’re thousands of Sergeant Major eggs. 🐠

And those two? They’re on guard duty.

Male Sergeant Majors fiercely protect the eggs until they hatch, chasing away anything that gets a little too close — including curious divers with cameras. 😂

It’s one of those underwater moments that’s easy to swim right past if you don’t know what you’re looking for.
