I’m spending a few days in Florida with my best friend and her family, and we spent the afternoon out on the boat.
At one point, I climbed up onto the bow, struck a ridiculous pose in my bikini, and we all laughed.
It was fun.
And that’s what stood out to me.
Not the pose.
Not the bikini.
Not the photos.
The fact that I wasn’t worried about any of it.
Now, don’t get me wrong. I absolutely care about aesthetics. I’m a bodybuilder. I work hard for my physique, and I’m proud of it.
But there was a time when a day like this would have looked very different.
I would’ve been wondering how I looked in every photo.
Adjusting my swimsuit.
Thinking about angles.
Feeling uncomfortable in my own skin.
Instead, I got to focus on what actually mattered.
Spending time with people I love.
Laughing until my stomach hurt.
Making memories.
That’s one of the most underrated benefits of taking care of yourself.
The physique is great.
The confidence that comes with it is even better.
Because when you feel good in your own skin, you stop making every moment about how you look and start enjoying the people you’re sharing it with.
