💪🏽 TRAINER TIP TUESDAY 💪🏽

Okay real talk — rest days used to stress me out too.

Like, I should be doing something. I’m falling behind. Everyone else is in the gym.

Sound familiar?
😅🫣🤫

But here’s what changed everything for me — I learned that the workout is just the stimulus. The actual magic? That happens when you’re sleeping, chilling, or soaking in the cold plunge.

Your body doesn’t get stronger IN the gym. It gets stronger after.

A few things most people don’t know
👇🏽👇🏽👇🏽

🧠 Your brain and nervous system fatigue just like your muscles do — and when they’re fried, your form breaks down, your motivation tanks, and your injury risk skyrockets. That’s not weakness. That’s biology.

💤 Most of your muscle repair happens during deep sleep. Like, the majority of it. So if you’re sleeping 5 hours and grinding 6 days a week… you’re basically spinning your wheels.

🔥 Skipping recovery doesn’t make you tougher — it actually stalls your progress. Plateaus, nagging soreness, feeling “off” — that’s often your body waving a white flag.

🧊 And active recovery? Walking, stretching, getting in the sauna or cold plunge — that stuff counts. It’s not being lazy. It’s being smart.

The best investment you can make in your fitness is actually taking your rest seriously.

So if today’s your rest day — own it. You earned it.

Both PEAK Fit Kalispell and WF showed up and gave everything they had — and honestly, we couldn’t be prouder of this community.

There’s something about the Murph on Memorial Day that no other workout can replicate. It’s not just the mile runs or the pull-ups or the push-ups and squats. It’s the reason behind it- knowing that the discomfort we feel for an hour is nothing compared to what the men and women we’re honoring gave.

Watching both gyms fill up on a holiday morning — people choosing to do something hard, something meaningful, together — that’s exactly what PEAK Fit is about. This isn’t just a place to work out. It’s a place where people show up for each other.

Yeah, we said it.
And we mean it.

Here’s your permission slip to stop overthinking it — you don’t need the perfect workout, the perfect program, or the perfect playlist.
🫸🚫🫷
You just need to MOVE!!
🚶 A walk counts.
🧘 Stretching counts.
💃 Dancing in your kitchen ABSOLUTELY counts.
🏊 A swim, a bike ride, a living room yoga flow — it all counts.

Here’s what happens when you move your body — any way, any amount:
✅ Blood gets pumping to muscles that have been sitting stiff all day
✅ Joints get lubricated (hence… motion is lotion 👆)
✅ Stiffness, tightness, and that “I slept wrong” feeling? Starts melting away
✅ Mood lifts — your brain releases feel-good chemicals just from MOVING
✅ Stress drops. Clarity comes. Energy builds.

The science doesn’t care if it was a PR or a 20-minute walk.

Movement is medicine either way.
