An unbelievable night at Double-X Speedway
Non wings cars took to the paper clip speedway and put on what we all thought was gonna happen, an ACTION packed show!! Couldn’t be more thankful to Kyle and Carol and their incredible crew for all their hard work getting the “Tribute to Jesse Hockett” in this year!
Samuel Wagner
Starting tail back in his non wing heat, Samuel took his knowledge of the track and put it to use gaining three spots to advance himself to a 6th place starting position in the feature event! And the dog fights were on the rest of the way as he would battle it out between Bryson Smith and Braydon Cromwell for the last spot to get sent to tech at the end of the event. And he did so finishing in the 4th place position!
While in his 360 wing car, started and finished 2nd by a margin of a sheet of paper in his heat race and would hound on his brother and Ben Brown for the race for the lead in the main event! All efforts were put toward another Wagner Boys 1-2 finish but the 73 machine would come home with a respectful 3rd place
Jack Wagner
Non wing war began in the heat races. Where the 77 machine fought to a second place run from fourth, lining himself up to be the chaser in the feature with a third place starting spot. By lap one, second place was secured and the job to hunt down the leader was on. And hunting he was until the leader flipped, handing over the lead to Jack! From there it was get to lap traffic and begin maneuvering to run away and hide, and did so successfully knocking off win number 3 for the non wing class on the year for Jack and his second non wing win at Double X!
Think that was the end of the action? NOPE! Because the wing 360 show was side by side, neck and neck down to the end with Ben Brown. Pushing hard every lap to take over the lead and with little to go Jack would finally have enough momentum to throw a slider and make it stick…. To make it his first double duty win in sprint cars!!
But to do the double. With TWO drivers pulling double out of one team. Couldn’t have been possible without Mom and Dad, Jack and Conny, Brett and Jackie Bybee, Aaron Graves and David Wagner, Damon Bybee, Madison Fry and Reagan Hockett!!! ALL of this team made last night happen. Without a single on of them the whole double attempt could have gone south in a hurry, thank you ALL for your efforts!!
As well as our partners and fans and friends and family that came to support!
