The month of September is upon us. Time to prepare🚀🔧

Came to a different Valley Speedway last night and was able to get two cars in the top 5 once again!

After not being around for a while, a definite change was obvious about the race track. There was no longer the one foot tall cushion non wing sprint cars are accustomed to pounding against around the top of Valley Speedway. So the new challenge began!

Samuel Wagner
Qualifying: 3rd in group 2
Heat Race: 2 - 2
Feature: 3 - 4

Maneuvering around, trying ever line he knew to try in the heat race, Samuel would being home a 2nd place finish. Earning another trip to the top 6 redraw! Samuel would pull out the number 3 and start the battle of 30 laps from the third spot! Racing within the podium the majority of the race, and would only make a slight error late and would come across the finish line in 4th

Qualifying: 1st in group 2
Heat Race: 4 - 1
Feature: 1 - 1

Trusting in Team Blu was just what the doctor ordered as Jack was able to take home the teams 9th non wing sprint car win this year!!!

Thank you so very much to Mom and Dad, Jack, Conny and Reagan Hockett, Brett and Jackie Bybee, Madison Fry, a big thank you to Miles Paulus, Faith Johnson, and Dave Wagner for sticking out the heat to put the boys in winning positions throughout the whole night! Lakeside Speedway with non wing sprint cars, ALWAYS having action all over the track!

Qualifying: 3rd in group 1
Heat Race: 2 - 2
Feature: 4 - 4

You look at the start and finish results and don’t think much of it. Until you go back and watch the WBR Facebook live stream Reagan Hockett had rolling last night and realize Samuel had been ran over lap one on the front stretch while trying to stop for a red that had happened on the back stretch. Brought it to the work area and was able to drive all the way back to his starting spot!! Making him the “Best of the Rest” of the night. Way to go to the 73 machine for stepping up big time and fighting your way through!

Heat Race: 4 - 1
Feature: 1 - 2

Something Jack has not been good at through his career is qualifying, and to get one with the non wing car means the world to him and the team! Keeping the high point man honors by going 4 - 1 in his heat race. Was given the last pill left for the pill draw which was, the number 1 pill. Started on the pole and led 23 of the 25 lap race to come home second.

Great job by the team tonight!!! Mom and Dad, Jack, Conny and Reagan Hockett, Brett, Jackie, Ace and Damon, as well as David Wagner for busting their butts tonight to give these boys a chance at the Weld Memorial

Midwest Racing Association heads to Lakeside Speedway on Friday night for the Weld Memorial!

And Saturday brings us back to Valley Speedway!

Lucas Oil Speedway gave local drivers three of the best race tracks non wing sprint car drivers could find in 2026, and last night was no exception either!

Four nights over the summer, consistently providing the best tracks with Casey Shuman at the helm, made for a very entertaining “Road to the Hockett” series as it was a slug fest from the initial drop of the green flag in May to the finale last night! Thank you all who made it happen

Never backing down and always putting in a fight at the end, Samuel Wagner charged from 6th to put himself on the podium for another time this season in the non wing sprint car ranks!

Tried some ideas out and didn’t get the results we wanted as of last night, but was able to come away with the big picture and win the “Road to the Hockett” series! Now making the 77 team a two time champion in 2026, adding to the Double X Speedway Championship earlier this year!
