The second day at valley speedway proved to be a mind game of “who will be more patient” as this was the first race of the season the non wing class was shown a dry, slick environment.

Samuel Wagner
Qualifying: 5th in group 3
Heat Race: 5-3
Feature: 14-11

After a hard qualifying effort, Samuel would start outside of the top four invert for the first time this season. But from there, there’s only one way to go and that’s forward! Gaining two spots in his heat race to finish third, but unfortunately he needed a few more point to get a better starting position in the a main event. As the young Wagner would have to start his night out in P14 and work, work, and work to try and move up the ladder. After a few miscues, Samuel would come home with an 11th place result

Jack Wagner
Qualifying: 3rd in group 2
Heat Race: 2-2
Feature: 2-2

The driver of the #77 tried to hard in qualifying on the technical racetrack, which inadvertently helped him by starting 2nd in his heat. In his heat race with the track already being bottom dominate he maintained the 2nd position.
Luck was on his side when he drew the #3 starting spot for the A-main. Jack tried out every inch of the cushion on the racetrack to try and do one spot better, but the 11x of Tom Curran prevailed for his first win.

A HUGE shoutout goes to Tom Curran, been family friend of ours since we started flat track go karts and to see him get his first win was incredible! Cant wait to see what Tom and the crew can do next!!

Personal thank you goes to everyone involved with trying to make the right adjustments for the boys last night. Thank you Mon and Dad, Jack and Conny Hockett, Brett and Jackie Bybee, Madison Fry, Reagan Hockett, and David Wagner for everyone’s efforts!

Non wing sprint cars. At Valley Speedway. Never disappoints!

Samuel Wagner
Qualifying: 1st in group 3
Heat Race: 4-3
Feature: 5-3

Hard, close quarter, and bad fast racing all night for the driver of the blue 73 machine! Fighting tooth and nail to get onto the podium, and came down to the wire racing for silver and came up bronze!

Jack Wagner
Qualifying: 1st in group 2
Heat Race: 4-2
Feature: 2-1

After what feels like forever sitting behind the wheel of a non wing car, Jack had time to think. And with that time, him and “Team Blu” cooked up a new idea to throw at this Jesse Hockett Racing #77 and from the drop of the green the boys had something to work with! After close calls in the heat race, Jack soared to a second place heat race result. With a starting position of P2, it wasn’t very long before Jack found the lead and with a caution free race, came home with his fourth non wing win on the season!

The thank you tonight goes out to all of the service men and women that have fought and died for this country! Thank you to the fans, our friends, and our family that came to support tonight!!!

Thank you too Mom and Dad, Jack and Conny Hockett, Brett and Jackie Bybee, Madison Fey and Reagan Hockett and David Wagner for all of your help this evening! Putting the two boys in the best possible positions to put on a show!

The hard work of our partners is truly amazing as well! The boys with Lie’s Trash Service showing up in full force last night and having a good time! To Terry and Fred for making the deal happen with the track to bring Dirt Track Souvenirs to valley speedway!

And everyone involved with making two boys dreams come true!

The tales of “Jekyll and Hyde” came out last night, as the competitors that came to Double XX Speedway we faced with different challenges than expected. Turns one and two were dusty and slick while it turns three and four there was grip to be had! Causing drivers to have to choose which end they would rather be better at and allowed for some very entertaining racing!!

Samuel Wagner
Drawing the number one pill overall, Samuel would start the first heat race on the pole position. While battling to stay with striking distance of race leader, Miles Paulus, Samuel Wood overdrive the turn one entry and spin out to bring out the caution flag. With three laps to go Samuel Wood hard charge back to a 3rd place finish, earning himself a fifth place starting spot for the main event.

But lap one, turn one would see a chain reaction of cars almost coming to a stop, and unfortunately, Samuel would be the last link on that chain. He stopped to avoid any more collision with fellow competitors and go from the back to a respectful sixth place finish!

Jack Wagner
Birthday boy would draw his best pill draw of the year with a number three and also start on the pole of his respected heat race. Getting out ran by Ben Brown to come home with a second place finish in his heat race would put Jack Wagner starting fourth in the main event.

Starting fourth was no easy task as the competitors in front of him would battle it side-by-side hard until lap 10 when Jack would be able to slip by on the bottom and lead the rest of the race!

The thanks goes out to team blu for once again managing to “produce perfect race cars” for knucklehead one and two to go out there and put on a show!!

Thank you to Mom and Dad, Jack and Conny Hockett, Brett and Jackie Bybee, Reagan Hockett, Madison Fry, and the Brothers, Ace Bodenhamer and Damon Bybee for all of their hard work last night!!
