Is that what it looks like?!

Yep, flakes coming down above 6000 feet this evening, with the slightest hints of accumulation in high, sheltered spots! September has ushered in a few days of chilly conditions here on the mountain. Summit temps dipped below freezing for the first time in the pre-dawn hours Thursday morning before rising a bit throughout the day.

With falling temps and precipitation in the area this evening, I made the hike to the top of Chair 2 to check things out, and sure enough was rewarded with a bunch of sleet and a few minutes of real snow!

Who’s ready for co****le this Saturday?!

We’re celebrating the last long weekend of the summer with a classic lawn game competition outside the Hampton Lodge, with check-in starting at 1pm and matches starting at 2. The double-elimination format means everyone will play at least 2 games, but after that it’s win-or-go-home.

Sign up ahead of time to lock in your spot; it’s completely free to play! Walk-on teams will also be accepted day-of. Good luck!

When the sun sets on Saturday evenings, there’s something to be enjoyed at The Ridge both inside and outside of the Chair 5 Pub. As the outside views grow dramatic in the late-day light, our musicians are just getting warmed up for an evening of fun at the restaurant.

This week, we’re excited to welcome Curtis Roy Moore back to the mountain from 6:30-8:30pm. Curtis made a great impression at last fall’s Tamarack Festival, and we’re excited to have him play our first September evening of live music on the mountain. An Americana singer-songwriter and storyteller, Curtis brings songs with grit, heart, and humor: just right for that sweet spot between summer warmth and the first hints of fall.

Line Dancing has been a big hit here on the mountain over the last couple summers, but this September we’re bringing a new kind of dance to the mountain for the first time: Salsa!

Join us for a salsa lesson this Friday the 4th, or any Friday in September from 6-8pm. This event is free to attend and open to all ages, and no prior experience is needed; our instructor will be ready to support you!
