The other day, I was chopping it up with my dog about the gym, weights, goals, and that feeling you get when you’re chasing something you haven’t reached yet.
We’re talking about some little-ass weight, because in our heads, we’re trying to move some BIG s**t.
My dog is bigger than me. He’s hitting 100-lb dumbbell bench presses.
I’m up to 75s.
And somewhere in that conversation, it hit me:
The same s**t you’re calling “light” could be somebody else’s GOAL.
You’re talking s**t about a position you worked your ass off to get into.
You’re so focused on the next level that you forgot to respect the level you’re already on.
That 75 might be somebody else’s 100.
That 100 might be somebody else’s dream.
And that body, strength, discipline, money, career, relationship, or life you’re complaining about today…
Could be exactly what somebody else is praying for.
Keep chasing more. Keep getting stronger. Keep raising the standard.
But don’t be so obsessed with where you’re going that you disrespect how far you’ve already come.
Progress deserves perspective. 🦾
