Sad news on the Great Allegheny Passage trail in PA.
Update:
A landslide near mile marker 88 on the afternoon of Saturday, October 17 prompted Ohiopyle State Park to close a segment of the GAP between Ohiopyle and Connellsville. The closed segment is between mile marker 87 (where The Sheepskin Trail intersects the GAP) and 89 (Connellsville).
This incident resulted in the death of one bicyclist and injuries to another. Pennsylvania State Police and the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources are investigating.
Our hearts are with the family and loved ones of the bicyclist who lost her life, and extend our hopes for recovery to the bicyclist who was injured.
On October 18, 19, and 20, 2WheelEscapes provided shuttle service between Dunbar (served by the Sheepskin Trail) and Connellsville (Yough River Park at Torrance Avenue, near mile marker 89) from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm. The cost is $20/person. On October 21, Wilderness Voyageurs provided this same service. Many thanks to both companies!

If you've not made prior arrangements, your best bet might be Wilderness Voyageurs, which is based in nearby Ohiopyle. Contact them at 800-272-4141 for their availability.
If you are traveling from Ohiopyle toward Connellsville, ride through the park all the way to the intersection with the Sheepskin Trail. Turn left on the Sheepskin Trail, and ride two miles until it terminates in Dunbar. The shuttle will be pick you and your bicycle up in Dunbar and take you to Connellsville.
If you are traveling from Connellsville to Ohiopyle, stop at Yough River Park by the playground and bathrooms. The shuttle will pick you up there, and take you to Dunbar and the Sheepskin Trail. Ride the Sheepskin Trail two miles and turn right on the Great Allegheny Passage to resume your trip.
