My apologies for the delay in posting this but here it goes…
Last Saturday night I made my pro kickboxing debut and even though I lost the fight, it was an incredible experience start to finish. The nerves hit me harder than I expected before the fight and the first round definitely reflected that, but once I settled in, recovered between rounds and started trusting myself, I felt like me again. My timing came back, my footwork felt sharp, my kicks and setups started landing, and I was able to fight intelligently through three hard rounds. More than anything, this fight showed me that I belong at this level and also showed me exactly what I need to improve going forward, especially when it comes to mindset, preparation and managing the nerves that come with these bigger moments. Combat Zone deserves a huge thank you because this was hands down the best promotion I’ve ever fought for. The way they treated the fighters was on another level, from the organization and communication to the food, media, production and overall experience. They made my first pro fight feel like a real professional event and I’m genuinely grateful I got to make my debut with them. Project Chaos also went way above and beyond for me. They took care of everything, even getting me a suite for myself and the dogs, and that kind of support means more than I can really put into words. We proudly fly their banner and wear their shirts because they’ve been that good to us and I’m extremely grateful to have them behind me. Huge thank you to Secret Pages Martial Arts for giving me a place to train, coach and continue building what I’m trying to build. Thank you to Allison for everything you do for me through fight camp and everything outside of it, and thank you to Wolfgang for being there and cornering me when it mattered. Thank you to everyone who came out, watched, supported, messaged me, trained with me, held pads, sparred with me or helped me get there in any way. Losing sucks, but I had an incredible time, learned a lot about myself and somehow came out of it even more excited to keep fighting. Back to work.
