🥎 UPDATE FOR OUR ELF FAMILIES 🥎
ELF Families,
I wanted to give everyone an update because I know many of you have been waiting to hear what is going to happen with lessons as I work through the situation with my back.
First and foremost, I want you to know this:
I have every intention of continuing to coach your girls.
Depending on what happens medically, there may be a period of time when I simply cannot physically be in the facility teaching the way I normally do. Instead of waiting until that happens and scrambling for a solution, I’ve been working on a plan that will allow us to continue your daughter’s development even if I have to coach from inside our home.
We are putting together a new live virtual coaching system inside the ELF facility.
Both pitching lanes will have their own dedicated iPad and mobile coaching station, giving me a live view of the athlete while she is pitching. I’ll be able to watch her mechanics in real time, communicate directly with her, make corrections, prescribe drills and continue coaching the same things we work on during our normal lessons.
My daughter and/or some of the college girls I’ve worked with will be physically present in the facility to assist me. They’ll help position cameras, demonstrate movements and drills when necessary, and record high-speed slow-motion video so I can get an even closer look at mechanics when needed.
I will still be the one coaching your daughter.
That’s extremely important to me.
I’m not trying to replace our lessons with a prerecorded program, hand your daughter off to someone else, or simply put a camera in the facility and hope for the best.
We’re building this specifically so I can remain actively involved in every lesson and continue giving each athlete the individual instruction she needs.
We’ve invested in dedicated equipment for both pitching lanes, upgraded the facility’s Wi-Fi system, built dedicated audio/video stations, and created a system for getting slow-motion pitching video directly to me during lessons.
These girls mean far too much to me to simply put everything on hold.
We’re going to thoroughly test the entire system before using it with our athletes. I want the technology to become almost invisible—the girls come in, warm up, pitch, work and get coached just like they always have.
My hope is that this is only something we need while I get my back situation figured out and recover. But we’re also building something that could ultimately make ELF better and give us additional coaching capabilities long after I’m back in the facility.
Most importantly…
I’m not going anywhere.
I appreciate your patience, your prayers, your understanding and, most of all, the trust you’ve placed in me to work with your daughters.
We’ve always said that the best is yet to come.
I believe that now more than ever.
