Congratulations to Linda who celebrates her 100th yoga class at Twin Lotus today!!

As a gift to share, she brought in these beautiful butterfly cookies, custom made by Bodi’s Bake Shop right here in town!

And Linda is one busy creative soul! In her spare time she tends to her monarch sanctuary, creates pottery, and even makes kokedame, (the Japanese art of creating a moss-covered ball for growing plants… pictured above).

Somehow, she still makes time for yoga 2-3 times a week!

We are so incredibly blessed to have her presence, creativity, and commitment to our community.🙏❤️

Congrats Linda!! Here’s to 100 more!! Love ya! ✨🙏❤️🙏✨

Sometimes we believe that balance means standing entirely on our own… that accepting support somehow makes us less strong.

But the yoga strap offers us another kind of wisdom.

It gives us something to meet, something to press against. And because we have that support, we can become more fully engaged in our own foundation.

Rather than allowing the strap to hold us, we use it to discover ourselves.

We press down through both feet.
We awaken the legs.
We lengthen through the spine.
We activate the entire body.
Nothing is passive.

In this way, the strap becomes a reminder of sthira… steadiness, strength, and presence.

The ancient teachings tell us that we are not separate from the forces that sustain us. The Earth holds us. Prana moves through us.
Consciousness surrounds us.

And yet, we must still participate.

The Divine may offer the support, but we must choose to root into it.

As you find your balance, the strap is not taking your weight away from you, but giving you something to rise against.

Its support helps to awaken your strength.

Stability is not created by gripping or by forcing, but by becoming completely present in every part of yourself.

Perhaps this is the deeper lesson…
Support does not make us weak.
True support reveals how strong we already are.

And when we learn to trust both the support beneath us and the strength within us, balance becomes less about preventing ourselves from falling... and more about remembering that we are held.

I woke up today knowing Tree Pose (Vrksasana) would be the focus of our class this morning.

I wrote my meditations and sequence… and went outside to let our goats and chickens out.

Before me was a leaf that looked to be levitating in mid air! I was in awe. I moved closer to discover there was a single thread from a spider web holding it about 2 feet from the ground.

The past few days I had been speaking to my classes about being in suspension, post eclipse, with one chapter closing, allowing the pause before a new one begins.

Sometimes we mistake stillness for being stuck and falling for failure. But there maybe invisible threads supporting us that we cannot yet see.

The tree lives between worlds. Its roots disappear into the darkness of the earth, into the unseen. Its trunk stands firmly in the visible world. And its branches reach upward, opening toward the vast mystery of sky.

The tree does not demand that everyday be calm. It does not resist the wind. It bends, sways, and loses leaves… and still it remains connected to something deeper.

Perhaps true balance is the ability to remain connected to center while life moves around you.

Like the sacred tree…
You are rooted in mystery.
You are growing through time.
And you are reaching toward the infinite.

Peace & Love my friends🙏❤️✨🌿✨

A trine in the sky with Jupiter & Saturn today! ✨

Here is a story from class on the topic…

Long ago, there was a hero named Hercules.
His story tells of twelve great labors …twelve challenges that would take him through the archetypal landscape of the zodiac.
Each labor asked something different of him…
Perhaps the twelve labors were never simply about defeating monsters.
Maybe they were about meeting the different parts of himself.
Because the journey through the zodiac is also the journey of the soul.
We move through beginnings and endings.
Through desire and surrender.

And with every challenge, the hero discovers a little more of who he truly is.
Today, Hercules arrives at a particularly fiery place in his journey…

Above him, Jupiter travels through Leo, the sign of the Lion.
Leo carries the energy of the heart …the courage to express, to create, to lead, to shine, and to remember the divine spark within.
So Jupiter in Leo whispers to the hero:
Believe in your light.
Don’t make yourself smaller.
Don’t hide the gifts you were given.
There is something within you that wants to be expressed.

Across the zodiac, another force is waiting.
Saturn travels through Aries, the sign of the Ram… the first spark of the zodiac, the energy of beginning, courage, independence, and action.
Saturn is the teacher.
The builder.
The one who reminds us that potential means very little without devotion.
And Saturn asks Hercules:
What are you willing to commit to?

The Lion and the Ram speak to one another…
The lion says, “Dream, believe in yourself.”
The ram says. “Begin. Take the first step.”

Jupiter brings expansion and faith.
Saturn brings structure and discipline.

And together they teach Hercules: true courage is not simply the absence of fear… it is believing in the possibility of something greater and then having the discipline to walk toward it.

Imagine Hercules standing beneath the fiery sky…
The lion behind him and the ram before him…. The road unfolding into the unknown.

And perhaps he finally understands… he was never meant to conquer the zodiac, he was meant to know himself through it.

And perhaps so are we…
One awakening at a time.

Depending on the class, sometimes students are given a few moments to play and explore…

That might mean choosing to go upside down (if it’s within their practice)…staying on their feet exploring a pose in a different way, or finding a moment of stillness to breathe wherever they choose.

Here, a mom and daughter decide to spend a few moments playing with headstand.

That’s one of the beautiful things about yoga. Your practice can be whatever it needs to be in that moment. There is space to explore, challenge yourself, and to rest and breathe. Nothing is mandatory.🙏

Sometimes opening up a little playtime gives students the freedom to discover something new… not because you have to, but simply because you want to explore.

Peace & Love!

The body is not a collection of separate parts.

It is a continuous conversation.

When your foot presses into the earth, your entire body participates.

When your hand reaches toward something, your shoulder, spine, ribs, pelvis, and even your relationship to the ground can respond.

Like a string instrument, a change in one part can alter the tension and vibration throughout the whole.

And perhaps this is one of the beautiful teachings hidden inside our anatomy…

We are built for connection.
