Sometimes the best way to hold a dominant position is knowing when to let it go.

When a bigger, stronger opponent starts bench pressing you off the mount, fighting like hell to stay glued to them can turn into a losing battle.

Instead of resisting all that force, go with it.

Let them create the space, dismount to knee-on-belly, and use their escape to transition directly into your next attack.

Good Jiu Jitsu isn’t always about stopping your opponent from moving. Sometimes it’s about **letting them move exactly where you want them to go.**🦍

This Saturday, August 15th, we’re running a foot-sweeps Workshop from 10AM–12PM, followed immediately by Open Mat.

The workshop is FREE — donations are welcome and appreciated, but absolutely not required. Just come train!

And because apparently turning 40 requires açaí for recovery, we’ll have an açaí food truck on site after the workshop. 😂🍓

Come learn some foot-sweeps, get some rounds in, eat some açaí, and help Coach Matt celebrate the big 4-0.
