👻🏁Spookapalooza Race Weekend Recap🏁👻

The last race of the season at our home track Blackbird Quarter Midget Race Club! This was a two day Manza style race. You race three heats and are awarded points based on your finish. Total points determines your starting position in the feature.

Saturday Recap:

Carsten Jr Honda:
Heat 1: P2 to P1 🥇
Heat 2 (Inverted start): P8 to P3 🥉

Carter Lt 160:
Heat 1: P4 to P2 🥈
Heat 2 (Inverted start): P5 to P3 🥉

Carter Heavy World Formula:
This was the first time Carter has raced heavy and only his third time on the track in WF with other racers. And man was the field stacked with talent to learn from. So we were just logging laps and learning for Lt WF next year!

The boys did great! The kids had fun trick-or-treating! Charlotte helped sing the National Anthem and the Crew chief. Anna Fank helped in concession! And Crew found a way to get dirty! So overall a good weekend!

Carter Sr Honda - Locked In

Carter Lt 160 Last Chance
Heat P2 ➡️ P1
Feature P1 ➡️ P1

Carsten Jr Honda Last Chance
Heat P2 ➡️ P2
Feature P4 ➡️ P5
Carsten ran a good race. He started P4 and made a pass for P3 but at the last minute got tangled with the other car and got spun. They went to the back P10. He worked his way back up to P5 and that’s where he would finish!

Carter Sr Honda Feature Winner P2 ➡️ P2
Carter had a good start on the outside but just couldn’t get down before falling back to P3. After running a few laps he found himself in P2 where he would gain on the leader, just didn’t have enough to catch.

Carter Lt 160 Feature Winner P6 ➡️ P3
Carter made his way to P5 and then was in some exciting laps where P3,P4,P5 ran nose to tail for about 10 laps before P3 & P4 got tangled. Carter would move up to P3 and put pressure on P2 but just couldn’t get a pass completed before running out of laps.

It was a great day for both boys and Mimi (Debra J. Otte-Orban) was there to watch! Thanks and we appreciate the help Charlie Wilt Racing!

Carter’s journey in the Petty Performance Edge program came to an end last night but we would like to Congratulate those that will be moving on! Good Luck to the Final 4, we will be cheering you on!

With the range of emotions that came last night for Carter he has still been grateful to have been a part of the program. The journey has ended in the program but not his racing career! Keep a look out for what’s ahead! We would also like to thank Mr.Petty, NASCAR Youth Series, and USAC Racing for the opportunity that your program has provided! So many great experiences and opportunities to learn and meet new people. Thank you!

We are SO excited to welcome everyone to Blackbird Quarter Midget Race Club’s Driver Experience Day this Saturday, October 10th! 🏎️💨

We can’t wait to introduce your kids to the world of quarter midget racing and, most importantly, see those BIG smiles when they get behind the wheel! 🤩

Here’s everything you need to know for Saturday:

📋 SIGN-IN: 10:00–11:00 AM
Please arrive during this time to get checked in.

📝 ONLINE REGISTRATION
If you haven’t already, please complete the Ride N Drive registration. When prompted, select Blackbird Quarter Midget Race Club and enter 10/10 for the event.

📄 BIRTH CERTIFICATE REQUIRED
Please bring your child’s birth certificate to sign-in. A copy or picture on your phone is perfectly fine!

🏎️ GETTING THE PERFECT FIT
During sign-in, we’ll measure and size each driver to make sure they are properly fitted for their car and safety gear.

🇺🇸 OPENING CEREMONY — 11:15 AM
Once sign-ins are complete, we’ll kick things off with an opening ceremony before getting our future drivers ready for their experience!

🏁 SUITING UP & HITTING THE TRACK
Beginning around 11:15 AM, we’ll start getting the kids dressed, fitted with their gear, and into the cars.
