🏁🏁Night Race Recap: 🏁🏁
The boys got a chance to do a little racing in the dark as Blackbird Quarter Midget Race Club had their Labor Day night race!!

Heats:
Carsten
Jr Honda P3 to P4
Carter
Lt 160 P4 to P4
Lt WF P1 to P2

Features:
Carsten
Jr Honda P7 to P7 even though the results don’t show it he ran a great race. He worked his way up to P3 and was holding his own until 4 laps to go when he got spun from behind. At that point not enough time to make his way back up front but went to the back of the 11 car field finishing P7!
Carter
Lt 160 P4 to P3 as Carter was shuffled to the back of the 5 car field at the start but made his way back up to P3. Was a good run!

Lt WF P2 to P2. This was more of a practice session as this was only Carter’s second time in the car with the World Formula motor. Thank you to Singleton Racing for some setup guidance as the car was really loose to start in heats but got it to a point Carter felt more comfortable.

🏁🏁 Hello Race Fans 🏁🏁
As we are racing back to school we wanted you to know that 1 in 5 Delaware Children face a food insecurity.

What "Food Insecure" Means: Affected children may regularly skip meals, go to bed hungry, or rely exclusively on school breakfasts and lunches because their families cannot afford adequate groceries.

Carter and Carsten think every kid should have the opportunity to get three meals a day.

That’s why Fank Family Racing is running a fundraiser to raise money that will be donated to kids in need. That’s right 100% of the money we raise will be donated to the Food bank of Delaware.

For every dollar you donate you will receive a chance at a $200 Amazon Gift Card and a Fank Family Racing t-shirt. We will take ALL funds raised and donate them to the Food Bank of Delaware. Our fundraiser will run now until Sept. 30th, at which time we will randomly draw a name from the list of donors and award the gift card and t-shirt. We will also recognize our top donor with a Fank Family Racing t-shirt!

We are accepting donations via Venmo or IM me for other ways to donate and will keep you posted on our progress! The boys have set a target to raise $1,000!!

Lt 160 Extra Distance Race Qualified P2 out of 5.

Carsten Jr Honda - P5 to P6
He ran a good race, the car was just loose and couldn’t maintain the momentum as the car kept wanting to come around on him. He was wheeling for sure!

Carter Sr Honda P3 to P1 🏆
Carter ran some good laps and found his way to the front! Gained his first victory of the season in Sr Honda! He got to do his long awaited “Rowdy Bow”! (Minus the checker flag as someone took it home)

Carter Lt 160 P2 to P2 🥈
On the start Carter found himself stuck on the outside falling back to P4. He would put his head down and charge forward. It started to rain briefly and the mud was slinging but stayed focused and got back to 2nd!

The only thing better than racing is racing with friends! Both Carter and one of his BF Charlie both won on Charlie’s birthday!! Happy Birthday Charlie Wilt Racing!!

Thank you to all that helped with Carter’s Community Clean-up! We appreciate you all for helping keep our community clean! We picked up two bags of trash from our neighborhood and community playground!

🏁🏁Race Day Recap:🏁🏁

It was great to get back to “The Bird” Blackbird Quarter Midget Race Club after all of this rain the last few weeks. Although the crew chief wishes for a smoother race day next weekend!

We decided to mix things up a little as it was the Extra distance race for Lt World Formula. We hoped for more cars, but at least we got some laps in and continued to add to our book of race knowledge! Thanks to Collett Racing Team for the help!

Carter went out for his first ever laps in the class during qualifying and was able to qualify P2 without spinning out!!

Heats in Lt 160 he went P4 ➡️ P2!

Carsten sadly did not make it out for his Jr Honda heat race as a brake adjustment that was made did not allow for enough pressure to stop the car. Back to the pits.

For his first race he ran some good lap times. Definitely learning throttle control and how to manage the speed difference. The extra distance was a challenge as well with his strength as they ran close to 30 straight green flag laps!! Glad we took the opportunity to learn!

Lt 160 P2 ➡️ P2!
Carter ran a good race, just needs his car to do a few things that the crew chief hasn’t quite figured out! But another solid finish! Funny how this car use to be fast, but now is so slow after running Lt WF!!

Jr Honda P10 to P5
With the disadvantage his crew chief gave him by starting in the back, he made some good moves to work his way towards the front! Was knocking on the door of P4 but his buddy Ethan Rustic Motorsports held him off!

Always fun racing against friends!! We even got Charlie Wilt Racing in the mix as the boys got to turn laps together on the track in practice! Carter, Charlie and Lucas were ripping it up!
