I’ve moved my Ambush Outdoor Products Slayer skid house 10 times in the past month chasing those elusive walleyes on Lake Vermilion. You’ve got to love the portability of these houses. How many gallons of water is 1 foot of elevation change in Lake Vermilion you ask?

As it continues to rain on us here in NE Minnesota, just think about of this every time Lake Vermilion goes up 1 foot in elevation….as I dig deep into my memory of the old geometry days of high school…

Lake Vermilion has 158.9 square kilometers of surface area which is approximately 1.7 billion square feet..

So, if Lake Vermilion goes up in elevation 1 foot…that’s 1.7 billion cubic feet…stay with me…

Now knowing that 1 cubic foot is equal to 7.48 gallons…

It amounts to a lot of water…

12.8 billion gallons of water every time the lake goes up or down 1 foot!

Good luck fishing next weekend and stay afloat everybody as there is a lot of water in this lake!
