Mustang Arena @ Spirit Farms β€” Go For Broke Productions closed out Championship Tour Stop #6 at Mustang Arena with nearly $50,000 in weekend payouts, a 14.295 that stood as the fastest run of the event, and a successful debut of the youth-focused Head of the Class Challenge.

When the final numbers were tallied, $49,747 was paid out across the weekend, excluding P*e Wee, Breakaway and Goat Tying payouts.

The fastest trip of the weekend came on Sunday when Kari Diedrich and Hesa Vegas Fling entered the arena at Draw #60 and stopped the clock at 14.295.

It capped an especially profitable weekend for Kari, who won the Open on both Friday and Sunday. Those performances also allowed her to cash in through the Lima Excavating ALL IN Side Pot, helping push her weekend earnings to $1,747.

While Diedrich owned the fastest time, Jolene Hambley left Sheridan as the weekend’s leading money earner with $2,451. Duane Diedrich followed closely with $2,163, while MJ Ralston rounded out the top three with $2,150.

One of the weekend’s most anticipated additions was the inaugural Head of the Class Challenge, sponsored by River Ridge Stable.

The youth-only event put a different spin on the traditional slot-race format. Contestants first faced Friday night’s QUIZ, with qualifiers advancing to Saturday’s FINAL EXAM, where the remaining 60% of the purse was on the line.

Recent high school graduate Braelee Roorda proved more than ready for one more final exam. Roorda and Too Bubblin Famous, by Bubblin Ta Fame, delivered a 14.730 to win the 1D and collect $706 in the Final Exam. Charlotte Musser and Elraton De Texas weren't far behind, stopping the clock at 14.858 for second and $470.

The 2D produced one of the more interesting finishes of the weekend. Joy Heideman and Valor and Lacey Franzenburg and Chex Tuff N Rumble each clocked an identical 15.294, splitting the top honors at $504 apiece. While Lacey holds the Championship title coming into the Final Exam with the faster of the 2 runs.

In the 3D, Caitlyn Klingson and Sr Guys Special Fame took the win with a 15.736 for $403, followed by Kari Murty and Easy Rockin Winner, whose 16.208 earned $269.

Only one qualified Final Exam time landed in the 4D. Kealyn Fuller and Dance After Me made it count, running a 16.253 and collecting $504.

For Roorda, the Final Exam victory was only part of an impressive Sheridan showing. Between her Friday and Saturday efforts, Roorda and Too Bubblin Famous earned $1,492, while Roorda finished the entire weekend fifth among all riders with $1,611 in total earnings.

The first Head of the Class Challenge may be over, but Go For Broke Productions says that event will be BACK in 2027! (Did someone say Final Exam Calcutta??)

Championship Tour Stop #6 also featured a full slate of Open, Youth, Adult and Masters barrel racing along with Breakaway Roping, Goat Tying, Pole Bending and numerous incentive and side-pot opportunities throughout the weekend.
