Healthy eating doesn’t have to be complicated—the Plate Method keeps it simple and effective:

🥦 ½ your plate = non-starchy veggies
🍗 ¼ = lean protein
🍠 ¼ = quality carbs
🥑 + a little healthy fat for balance

*Fat recommendations vary based on the fat from protein/meat

🔹 Better Squats Start With Better Hips 🔹

If your squat feels tight, uncomfortable, or you struggle to hit depth, your hips may be the limiting factor.

Two of my favorite mobility drills:

âś… 90/90 Stretch
Improves internal and external hip rotation while helping build active control through your available range of motion.

âś… Pigeon Stretch
Targets the glutes and posterior hip capsule to reduce stiffness and improve comfort at the bottom of your squat.

Don’t just chase deeper squats—build the mobility that allows you to move well and stay strong through every rep.

Try spending 1-2 minutes on each side before squatting and see how your movement changes.

Tip Tuesday: Bar Muscle-Ups

Bar muscle-ups are not just about pulling harder — they are about creating the right positions. Two things that make a huge difference:

1. Build Strong Lats

Your lats are what keep you connected to the bar and help drive your body through the transition.
Think:

* Straight arm lat pull-downs
* Beat swing control
* Hollow to arch strength
* Chest-to-bar pull-ups

If your lats are not engaged, your swing gets loose and you lose power before the turnover even starts.

2. Get Those Hips HIGH

A lot of athletes try to pull early instead of letting the kip work. Your goal is to create a powerful hollow position and drive the hips UP toward the bar before turning over.

Cue:
“Push down on the bar and bring your hips to it.”

Higher hips = less pulling = smoother muscle-ups.

Big swings do not equal efficient swings. Stay tight, stay connected, and let the hips create the magic. đź’Ą
