Fire Sweep Simmental Ranch

It’s time to highlight another consignment from Fire Sweep Simmental Ranch heading to the MO Fall Harvest Sale on November 14th!
Meet Saint — a beautiful 2-year-old cow who wasn’t originally supposed to leave the ranch just yet. But when our original sale consignment laid down and lost her calf, we had to dig a little deeper and find a replacement pair. And folks, we think we found a pretty good Plan B! 😉
Saint’s dam is one of our top cows here at Fire Sweep, and she’s about as close to fault-free as they come. We’ve kept Saint’s older sister, a red, Lockdown-sired 3-year-old, along with her younger sister, so we’re definitely keeping this proven cow family in our program!
We bred Saint hoping for a red, white-faced heifer calf. Well… apparently, Saint had other plans! 😂 Instead, she gave us this little dandy of a calf, and we couldn’t be happier with the pair.
Saint is shaping up to be one heck of a cow, just like her mama and big sister! Take a look at that beautiful udder and excellent teat placement. You simply can’t ask for much more! She’s going to be a big-bodied cow like her mama, and that’s exactly the kind we love around here.
If you appreciate a pretty face, a cow built to work, and one that knows her job doesn’t end when the calf hits the ground, Saint deserves a spot on your shortlist! And that sweet heifer calf at her side? Well, that’s just an extra ticket to the party! 🎟️🐮

Another exciting consignment from Fire Sweep Simmental Ranch!

This is just ONE REALLY GOOD bull out of an outstanding flush! He passed his BSE today and is headed to the sale on November 14.

We’re offering this bull along with a set of flushmate embryos, giving you two opportunities to bring some of this genetics home!

His donor dam is our top cow, SC Robin’s Kiss, pictured out in the field just a few weeks ago. These embryos represent the first time we’ve offered embryos out of Robin, and we’re excited to share the results of this flush with other breeders.

The advertised embryos are sired by Anthem, but if you’d like to mix and match a few with Patriot, his full brother, we’re open to that, too! We currently have a Patriot bull developing in our own bull pen, and he looks every bit as good as his brother. We’re pretty pleased with both flushes!

So, what’s your preference? Take home a bull who’s ready to go to work (and take a look at those growth EPDs! 👀), or invest in embryos and see what you can raise next year. We absolutely love the heifer mates from this flush, and none of those girls are leaving our farm! ❤️

And if someone else beats you to this bull but you’re still looking for your next herd sire, don’t worry! We have several good bulls still out in the field. Give us a call or come by for a visit. We’d love to talk cattle with you!

Time to highlight some of our lots!
We are really proud of this consignment. Lily comes from the heart of the herd, and is steeped in some really great genetics. She is a larger-framed heifer, if you like them big! Don't be left out come sale day and wish you were the last bidder on her! She is broke to tie, super sweet, and knows no enemies. She is lot 48 in the MO Simmental Breeders sale on November 14th at Springfield Livestock Center!

We've now doubled the size of our fullblood (Fleckvieh) herd 🫢. We have 3 adult females, and we were lucky enough to have 3 heifers so far. 2 are embryos out of our Chyna cow who was reserve at Cattlemen's Congress many years ago, top 3 nationals as a heifer and champion pair at Nationals, and Bourbon Street as the sire. This third one is sired by a very old bull, Horbky. We bought the heifer from 3 Child farms as a bred, and she turned out ok. Kinda fun seeing the old genetics out there. We are currently waiting for our Robin cow to calve, she's due next week. Now if we could get some rain!

Here is another consignment from Fire Sweep at the Fall Harvest sale on November 14th. Saint is a 2 year old with a royal pedigree. She laid down and had this cute heifer calf, sired by Cyclone. Saint was not on the list for the sale, however when the heifer we wanted to consign had a dead calf, we had to dig deep because we sold most of our fall calving bred heifers over the spring and summer. Look for Saint and Trixie in the fall catalog when it comes out!

We’ve put together an impressive set of cattle for our fans at this year’s Fall Harvest Sale! Catalogs should be available soon, and I can tell you one thing: as always, our cattle look WAY better in person than they do in pictures. So, if you like what you see in the catalog, just wait until you see them in person! You’ll like them even MORE! I’ve heard there are more than 90 consignments this year, so it’s shaping up to be a BIG sale!

The Missouri Simmental Association has also stepped up its game this year by bringing in a special guest presenter for our annual meeting on Friday evening, the night before the sale. Amanda Radke will be joining us to share her knowledge and insights, and we’re excited to have her!
Please scan the QR code and let us know you’re coming so we can make sure there’s plenty of delicious food from Cloud’s Catering for everyone to enjoy.
It’s going to be an exciting weekend filled with great cattle, good food, and even better company! We can’t wait to see you all at the Fall Harvest Sale, friends!

One of our consignments for the MO Fall Harvest sale November 14th. She was bred 7/4 to the genex bull SRF Pivot, who has some of the top EPDs. We have several Pivot sired calves on the ground this fall, they come small and GROW! No bull exposure, this gal comes from a Fleckvieh cow our son showed and won Cattlemen's Congress Champion Fleckvieh Female with, Logland Tovi Lilly . Only because we bred her later is she being offered for sale. She is sweet, quiet, and calm. She is broke to tie. She is a big, beautiful girl, you have to see her in person!

If your in the area, stop by and say hi at Ozark Farm Fest. We've already sold a few bulls, but there's more at home to sell. It's great weather to stop and visit!

Farm Fest is this weekend! We are excited to showcase our genetics and talk with old friends. Make sure you stop by our stalls; we are in the same place this year where we have been for several years now. The coffee will be hot and the conversation is always good!
