It’s official! Spearfish bike week starts today with the Grand Opening of the New Trails. Ribbon Cutting is at 2pm followed by a full day of events.
We encourage everyone to just SHOW UP! These events take a tremendous amount of time, energy, and community support to put together. When you show up you show your support of community, the local cycling culture, local businesses, trails and outdoor recreation, the local economy, and the people who continue to work to make spearfish a better place and a destination for outdoor enthusiasts!

Spearfish Bike Week is official, and kicks off one week from today! We hope you can make it to a few or all of these awesome events. Saturday the 29th will be the official Grand Opening of the new trails at the ice rink area in the City Campground hosted by Spearfish Trails Coalition and the City of Spearfish. The Community Welcome and ceremonial ribbon cutting takes place at 2:15 followed by guided beginner gravity rides, bike shop demos, and kids activities.
The Strava Community Challenge time trial will also be happening on the new green loop, with runners lining up at 4pm and riders taking the course at 5pm. The course is 1 mile long! Join the Spearfish Trails Coalition Strava Group to stay updated.
Stick around from 6-9pm for the food trucks, some live acoustic music, an evening ride and a campfire closing circle.
We are looking forward to all of these awesome events and hope you can join in on the fun! It's a guaranteed good time!!
