Spearfish Canyon Half Marathon & 5K The Spearfish Canyon Half Marathon & 5K benefits the Northern Hills Area CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) Program. Take a walk, take a run for kids!

The annual event is held on the second Saturday of July. This event is an annual fundraiser, which benefits the abused and neglected children through the Northern Hills Area CASA Program. The Annual Spearfish Canyon Half Marathon Event is held the second Saturday of July. It includes a Half Marathon on the scenic road from Savoy to Spearfish City Park and a 5K which follows the bike path and Spearfish Canyon scenic byway. Healthy lifestyles and supporting children in need; can you think of any better reason to run? Enjoy your day with a walk/run down beautiful Spearfish Canyon!

Congratulations to our 40th annual 5K winners! Medals were distributed to the top three overall finishers for male and female, plus first place medals were given out to both male and female in the various age categories (under 12, 12-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79).

Northern Hills Area CASA is looking forward to hosting the 8th Annual Black Hills Super 6 Mountain Bike Race and Trail Run on Saturday, August 15, at Big Hill Trails. Gather your family/friends for a team entry, or go it alone as an individual. Either way, it will be another fun event.

Early bird discounts are available through July 31. Prices will increase by $20 on August 1.

Meadow parking is limited, and reserved spaces sell out quickly. Add this on to your registration for only $60, while it lasts.

Memorabilia race shirts (men's/unisex tees, youth tees, and women's tanks) are available for purchase online. Orders are due by July 29. The t-shirts are aqua heather (light, vibrant blue-green shade), and the tanks are heather lavender (earthy, pastel purple).

We have been serving victims of child maltreatment in 8 counties of western South Dakota for 4 decades. This signature fundraising event allows us to continue our mission of being powerful voices for abused/neglected children. Therefore, no refunds will be issued.
