The transformation for the Sk8 To Elimin8 Cancer Ice Show at the ISCC is nothing short of incredible. ⛸️✨
It begins late Thursday night as the final adult hockey game ends, by Friday morning, an amazing behind-the-scenes effort is already underway — the hockey glass comes down, on-ice seating platform is installed, lights are programmed, bunting and seating are carefully arranged.
Come Saturday, final touches are in place after skaters get their practice sessions. The doors open, the crowd pours in, and anticipation fills the building. For 2 and a half magical hours, the arena becomes a stage filled with lights, music, talent, and inspiration — all in support of an incredible cause. When the final applause fades, the work begins again. Seats are stacked, the on-ice platform is removed, lighting rigs come down, and crews work through the night to reset the arena once more.
By late Sunday morning, the hockey glass is back in place, the nets are up, the ice is cut, and youth hockey players take the ice before lunchtime — as if the transformation never happened.
An enormous thank you to every staff member, volunteer, production crew member, coach, skater, and supporter who makes this event possible - every single moment is worth it. ❤️⛸️
