As the year comes to a close, Simsbury Polo Club would like to congratulate Phyllis Blauvelt the recipient of the 2022 Clint Nangle Award for Excellence in Equine Welfare, Nelson Xing the recipient of the 2022 Dr. Billy Linfoot Most Improved Club Player Award, Martin Phaguoape the recipient of the Owen O’Hanlon Best Groom Award, and Pepper owned by Phyllis Blauvelt as the 2022 Club Polo Pony of the year. 👏👏👏👏

Anyone who has played polo in Aiken knows how hard it is to win here. I feel so incredibly blessed to have enjoyed such a successful season this spring. So thankful to all of my teammates, my groom, my friends, all of the polo clubs here (Wagener, Aiken and New Bridge) and most of all my family. Having my three sons here this season has meant more to me than I can say!

Update from Aiken...LBL polo advanced to the final of the USPA Constitution Cup 6 goal today at Wagener Polo Club and so far we are undefeated in the Pete Bostwick Memorial 8 goal at New Bridge Polo Club. Polo every day this week and the horses are handling the rotation and going great thanks to careful planning and especially my fantastic groom Martin Phagouape. Thanks to all of my teammates...vamos LBL!!!

Congratulations to Phyllis Blauvelt Marcos Onetto, Summer Kneece, and Martin Eddy on a strong final yesterday. While we didn’t emerge with the victory it’s a great accomplishment for LBL Polo to make 3 finals out of 4 tournaments in Aiken this season. Already looking forwards to the spring tournaments. Of course congratulations to a good La Bourgone team on a well earned victory!

I cannot say enough about how proud I am of Phyllis Blauvelt! She has put in the time...stick n balling at home, doing sets to ride more horses, investing in lessons, buying the right horses...and now it’s all paying off down here in big boy polo in Aiken. PB and LBL are 4-0 and into the finals of the Jake Kneece Memorial 4 goal at Aiken Polo Club. VAMOS Phyllis and VAMOS LBL Polo!
