**A MESSAGE FROM PERSIMMON HILLS GOLF COURSE ⛳️**

We hate that this post is necessary, but after several incidents over just the past week, we need to address an issue that directly affects our business.

**Playing golf without paying for golf is theft.**

Golf may be a service rather than a physical product, but using that service without paying for it is no different than walking into a store, taking merchandise, and leaving without paying.

Unfortunately, we have recently encountered several situations involving golfers attempting to avoid paying the appropriate greens fees.

This includes:
• Using someone else’s membership to avoid paying for your round
• Paying for 9 holes and continuing to play 18
• Coming along as a “rider” but actually playing golf without paying
• Continuing to play after completing a tournament without coming into the Pro Shop and paying for additional golf

**All of these are theft of services.**

Because of these incidents, you may notice our Pro Shop staff and course marshals being a little more diligent about verifying who has paid to play.

**MEMBERS:**
We currently have some new employees in the Pro Shop who are still learning our membership. They may ask to see your ID to verify your membership. Please don’t take offense—we sincerely appreciate your patience and cooperation while they learn our members and help us protect the golf course.

**GREENS FEE PLAYERS:**
If you are given a receipt when you check in, please keep it with you during your round. A course marshal may ask to see it as verification that your greens fee has been paid.

We wish these additional steps weren’t necessary. We operate Persimmon Hills with the goal of providing an enjoyable, affordable place for our community to play golf, and the overwhelming majority of our members and guests are wonderful about following our policies.

Unfortunately, the actions of a few have made it necessary for us to be more diligent.

**If you play golf at Persimmon Hills, please check in at the Pro Shop and pay for the golf you intend to play. It really is that simple.**
