TRUE HEROES DON’T WEAR CAPES!
Today, Sunrise Drive Elementary celebrated our 3rd Annual First Responder Parade, and what an absolutely beautiful, spirit-filled day it was! From the morning bagpipes to the high school marching band led by Ms. Kerri Van Boxel, the energy was unmatched.
Our amazing 4th and 5th-grade Scouts led the procession under a giant American flag hung from the fire department’s bucket truck. Firefighters, EMS, medical staff, and law enforcement did laps around the property to cheering students and emotional community members.
We wrapped up the morning in the cafeteria with coffee, bagels, and a fantastic musical tribute from Mr. Spera and our 5th-grade band. These heroes put it all on the line for us daily, and today was a beautiful lesson in gratitude for our students.
A massive thank you to our incredible PTA and volunteers (shout out to Mrs. Clemenz, Mrs. Grosso, Mrs. Lipari, and Mrs. McManus!) for making this partnership event such a huge success. And to our first responders: thank you for all you do, today and every day!
