🏴‍☠️ MATCH RECAP: Pirates vs. #12 Ashland (9/5)
🏴‍☠️It was another incredibly tough matchup today for the Pirates, facing off against the #12 ranked team in D2. We knew it would be a challenge, and it got even harder after conceding a goal in the very first minute. After a 3-0 wake-up call in the first half, the boys got the reality check they needed regarding our game starts.The second half was a completely different story! The intensity skyrocketed, the level was raised, and the boys fought back hard—creating more chances and putting more shots on goal. Ashland managed to find the net one more time to bring the final score to 4-0, but the second-half performance gave us some massive building blocks to build on.Individual highlights:
🧤 Saves: Danny was an absolute wall, racking up a massive 16 saves!
⭐️ Man of the Match: Owen Gooding for a stellar performance.
🍩 Donut of the Day: Ryley Miller (for nearly leaving his game jersey behind at the field!).
The Pirates move to 2–3 on the season. A lot of lessons were learned today, and we are ready to carry that second-half energy into a nice run of conference games starting this Thursday.

⚽️ Tough night on the road at Port Clinton! 🏴‍☠️The Pirates JV boys put on a massive offensive show, over 15 shots on goal throughout the match. We absolutely controlled the tempo and created some beautiful chances, but the soccer gods just wouldn't let the ball cross the line for most of the night.
The breakthrough finally came in the second half when London Keller found the back of the net to put the Pirates on the board!
While we couldn't quite capitalize on all our chances, the hustle and fight were there until the final whistle.
🏆 Man of the Match: Landon Bergeman — absolute stellar performance and non-stop work rate on the pitch!
🍩 Donut of the Day: Maxx Bloom — saving the details for the locker room, but congrats on the team's favorite humorous honor!
On to the next one! Let's keep putting those shots up and the goals will follow. 💪⚽️

Match Day 4: Pirates @ Lexington 🏴‍☠️⚽️
A quick start for the Pirates in this one with a goal in the first 5 minutes! Whitten played a beautiful pass through to Titus, who rounded the keeper and tapped it into an open net.
Lexington picked up a penalty later in the half, but Danny Buga came up big with a massive save to protect our 1-0 lead at halftime.
The second half proved to be a battle. Being a bit too compact and playing too low allowed Lexington to take an uncontested shot to tie it 1-1.
Disaster struck shortly after with another penalty, which Lexington converted to take a 2-1 lead. We fought hard and created some excellent late chances, but just couldn’t quite find the back of the net.
We feel like we should have come away with the win, but we don’t dwell on it. We move. On to the next!

🏴‍☠️ PIRATES WIN! 4–1 COMEBACK VICTORY! 🏴‍☠️
Match Day 3 was a tale of two halves, but our boys showed major heart to walk away with a massive win over Fremont Ross!
The game started a bit slow. Despite dominating the shot count early on, we struggled to connect our passes and find the target. A tough mistake led to a penalty, putting us down 1–0 at the half.But the second half was a completely different story! The boys made excellent adjustments, stretched the defense, connected their passes, and absolutely flooded the back of the net. ⚽️🔥
With this win, the Pirates improve to 2–1 on the season!📊

🏴‍☠️ HOME OPENER VICTORY! PIRATES WIN 2–1! 🏴‍☠️What an unbelievable night under the lights for Match Day 3!
The boys showed serious heart to bounce back and secure their first win of the season!
🔴 First Half: A nervous start and some rushed play saw us go down 0–1 at the break.
🟢 Second Half: A total shift in energy! The boys calmed down, took control of the ball, and completely flipped the script.
⚽ Ryley Miller brought the equalizer to tie it 1–1!🚀 Titus Normington-Slay blasted home a rocket to give us the 2–1 lead!
Elyria Catholic threw everything they had at us in the final minutes, but the Pirates showed incredible resilience and teamwork to hold them off and protect the win.
The boys are officially 1–1 on the season!🏆 Match Awards:
