Now that all the dust has settled, boxes have been restocked and put away, and I've had a chance to unwind, it's time to send my utmost gratitude to these wonderful people who make the Barn Dance run smoothly.
In no particular order…
Shanon, the extra special decorations of silver were fabulous, the Photo Booth was perfect, and the wall of memories and table of photos brought back great times of joy from years past. Thank you for everything you did and for the wonderful photos you took at this year's Barn Dance.
Jo Lyn and Marianne, the raffle was a huge success and was beautiful! You two are so clever and crafty to come up with the names of the baskets and put together the donations everyone submitted. Well done!
Barb and Paula, keeping track of the desserts for the bake-off and all the side dishes as they came in is a challenge, and, as usual, you did a great job!
Gloria, my bookkeeper extraordinaire, I am so grateful for the time and effort it takes to keep the raffle money and cancer donation money in the right place and for keeping the books at class.
Leesa, if I had your organizational skills, I'd be a better person! You did an excellent job working out how to do the dessert bake-off so it made better sense.
Cynthia, from the flyer design, shirt design, and stickers for folks to have as souvenirs for their water bottles, you're going to have that job forever because you did it so well!
Pam, my spare feet and class substitute, we've been dancing together for all 25 years. How can that be? Your friendship is one of the best surprises in my adult life!
Kelly, Kay, Judy, Gary, Doug, and Brad who came out with so many Stompers Friday night to set up the tables and chairs for our early start Saturday, and then came back Saturday night to put things away, I am so humbled by your unconditional support. You men don’t even clog (yet) but you are invaluable additions to our club, and I see you!
To my loving husband, Don, who drags out those boxes for me, boils and grills the bratwurst, and puts up with the chaos the Barn Dance brings to the house, I truly appreciate everything you do behind the scenes for our community of cloggers. You're the best!
To my kids and grandkids, Rachel, Caleb, Josh, Lorraine, Everett, and Julian, you are my inspiration and legacy. I hope you always have an activity in your life that feeds your soul the way clogging has fed mine.
To my college roommate, Sheryl, for making the trip back to SoCal from Iowa to celebrate our 25th year means so much! And you bought the most raffle tickets for the cancer basket! Thanks for that. We raised $325 to donate to the American Cancer Society with the tickets sold.
And last, but by no means least, Julie… even though you weren't physically in attendance at the Barn Dance this year, you came through and made chickens with me all day and gave us a Julie stand-in for everyone to take a selfie with for the memory books! Next year, the Barn Dance will be back to an earlier date, so there's no camping conflict.
To our guest instructors, Kellee, Chris, Eric, Sydney, Kyle, Dan, Russ, Lelia, Rachel, and John, you kept people on the dance floor and gave them all a run for their money! Your skills made this 25th Barn Dance one to remember, and I thank each and every one of you!
Loyal Barn Dance attendees, thank you from the depths of my soul for your continued support. Because of you, the Barn Dance will live to see another year!
