The Triple Chair’s counterweight shed is officially gone, opening up more space at the base as the hydraulic tensioning reengineering project moves forward

The new hydraulic system will replace the lift’s existing counterweight tensioning system, eliminating the need for the shed and making way for a much more open base area

Before and after the trail blast clean up on Platty's Sundown Trail

Following the trail blast that widened a section on skier’s right of Sundown, Mountain Ops cleared enormous piles of blasted rock and shaped the new terrain

A major transformation as preparations continue for the 2026/27 season

The Triple Chair’s hydraulic tensioning reengineering project is making progress, with the crew welding the new framework into the lift terminal

The project is modernizing one of the lift’s key operating systems and will also result in more space at the base, as the counterweight shed will no longer be needed

Keep an eye out for the counterweight shed demo and more progress on the project
