Bitterly cold today, windchills were way below zero. But that did not deter us from having an awesome all day PSIA Member School Staff Training Day with Ed Staff member Frank Cartwright from Hunter Mountain. Basically a morning of high end ski lessons with a bump clinic to tie it all together in the afternoon. And the bumps on Plunge and Freefall were so good! Thank you Frank, please come back again soon!

The low visibility did not deter our guests from coming out and enjoying a day of learning how to slide on snow with our amazing snowsports instructors! We have had an awesome holiday week so far, be sure to book your lessons this season with Plattekill Snowsports and learn to ski or snowboard during this holiday week!

It was a short but sweet season for the Plattekill Mountain Snowsports School, but we made the most of it. We had a lot of fun working with new students and returning guests, and we’re looking forward to seeing you again next season. Truly an honor to work with this amazing team, and grateful for the support of Laszlo and Danielle Vajtay, and .davie.3 and Plattekill Mountain Ops. Here’s to a short summer and a snowier winter next year!

We had the pleasure of hosting Doug Stewart from Stowe for our annual PSIA member school staff training day today. Doug is a longtime instructor, trainer, examiner, and master boot fitter, and this was his first time skiing Platty. It was a blast working with him today, we can’t wait to have him back!

We had a great group yesterday from the United Nations Ski Club, getting an awesome beginner ski lesson and building up their confidence in sliding on the snow and learning how to make turns and control your speed while skiing downhill. A few even graduated from the Learning Center and made it to the top of the mountain in the afternoon, where they got to enjoy the beautiful views of the Catskills. Learn to ski and snowboard with the best little snowsports school in the Catskills!
