Monday morning blues? Not this week. 🌊🎨

The sun is shining, school is out, and the summer solstice is here! We’re kicking off the statewide celebration by the water's edge at Garst Mill Park—and your family is invited.

Before the summer heat kicks into high gear, join Brambleton Recreation Center for Art in the Park on Monday, June 22 from 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM.

✨ What to expect:

A peaceful morning of painting and drawing creekside.

A chance for the kids (and you!) to stretch your creativity while enjoying nature.

Quality family time to kick off the best season of the year.

Looking to fill your calendar next week? We’ve got a fantastic lineup of programs—from day-long excursions to 8-week creative series—designed to keep you engaged all month long:

🚌 Booker T. Washington Juneteenth Celebration (June 20): Join us for a meaningful day of live music, living history, and plantation tours commemorating the 160th anniversary of Booker T. Washington's emancipation.
✏️ Drawing Basics (Starts June 17): Whether you're a total beginner or getting back to the basics, join our 8-week course to master shading, sketching, and portraiture.
💪 Elevate (Starts June 16): Level up your weekly fitness routine with our 12-week body conditioning class! Cardio, strength, core, and great music.

Brambleton Recreation Center is bringing the sunshine with three incredible opportunities to get outside and explore this June! Whether you're looking for family-friendly art, restorative movement, or a full-day road trip, we have you covered:

🎨 Arts in the Park (June 22): Join us at Garst Mill Park to paint and draw in celebration of summer. Families are welcome—just be sure to RSVP by June 17th!
🧘 Summer Solstice Yoga (June 22): Celebrate the longest day of the year with a calming, outdoor restorative yoga session.
🚌 Berkeley Springs & Buc-ees Trip (June 27): Enjoy a relaxing day of mineral waters, history, and a legendary snack stop. We depart from Brambleton Center with an additional pickup at Bonsack Walmart.

We have a packed schedule of new programs kicking off next week! From 8-week creative series to one-day workshops, there is something for everyone to learn and enjoy:

🏺 Ceramics (Starts June 9): Explore the behavior of glazes and create your own decor or dishes in this 8-week series with Ozzy Freidline.
🎨 Mixed Media Club (Starts June 9): Stretch your skills on and off the canvas with guidance from Lillian Brue.
🖼️ Art Through the Ages: Pop Art! (June 12): Get the skinny on the 1950s/60s Pop Art movement! Light snacks are included.
✨ Sound Meditation (June 12): Enjoy deep relaxation with singing bowls and gongs. Mats are provided, just bring a blanket/pillow!

Head to Hardy, VA to commemorate the 160th anniversary of the emancipation of Booker T. Washington! Enjoy live music, living history demonstrations, and guided tours of the Burroughs plantation. (Pickups at Brambleton Recreation Center & Clearbrook Walmart).

📅 Sat, June 27: Berkeley Springs, WV & Buc-ee's!
Relax in the steady 74-degree natural warm springs right in the middle of town! You can wade in the public mineral water, book a private mineral bath, visit the museum, and—of course—we're making a stop at Buc-ee's along the way! 🦫 (Pickups at Brambleton Recreation Center & Bonsack Walmart).

Ready to commit to a new hobby? We are kicking off a full slate of 8-week series and summer clubs at Brambleton Recreation Center! Whether you want to strengthen your body or unleash your creativity, we have a spot for you:
