Great weekend for playing in the Truckee River. The river was calling me!
The temperature was perfect, the water flowed well, and people were having a great time.

💥ATTENTION TRAIL USERS💥 Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) will be conducting extensive work between the Fleish Bridge and the power house in this section. During this time, TPT’s easement access from TMWA will be suspended and the trail will be closed to all recreational users between Quilici Ranch Road to Fleish Bridge. This is approximately a 3.5 mile section. Please be respectful of this closure. The road will be under continuous use by TMWA vehicles and heavy equipment that is required for this work and violating the TMWA closure could put trail users in harm’s way.

A reminder that the trail from Quilici Ranch Road trailhead to Fleish Bridge will be closed starting in September. Here is the sign from Truckee Meadows Water Authority.
Please keep in mind that this will affect thru-hikers and bikers who plan to use that section to reach their destination.

Most Reno walkers and cyclists using the Tahoe-Pyramid Trail/the Reno River Walk know about the gate closure along the Truckee River. A reroute should be marked by the end of August to bypass this portion of the trail. For more detailed information, please see the link below.

TRAIL CLOSURE FROM QUILICI RANCH ROAD TRAILHEAD TO FLEISH BRIDGE FOR ALL RECREATIONAL USERS. SIGNS WILL BE POSTED AT TRAILHEADS. PLEASE RESPECT THE CLOSURE.

THIS WILL BE POTENTIALLY FROM SEPTEMBER 1ST THROUGH MAY 2027. ANY DATE CHANGES, WE WILL POST ON SOCIAL MEDIA.

TRUCKEE MEADOWS WATER AUTHORITY (TMWA), WHICH ALLOWS US ACCESS THROUGH THIS SECTION, WILL BE WORKING ON THE HYDROELECTRIC CONVEYANCE SYSTEM AND POWERHOUSE. TRUCKS AND EQUIPMENT NEED ACCESS, AND SO, FOR THE SAFETY OF EVERYONE, WE NEED TO RESPECT THIS CLOSURE.
