You know I love a race! Tomorrow will be my first time running the ! This is an iconic 10k here—as someone who is new to Charleston, and since I haven’t been active in the running scene here like I was in Seattle, I was super surprised at the size of the race expo. Felt like a marathon expo! Great job team 💪❤️

Confession time 😬 I’ve been totally phoning it in at the gym for months. And by “at the gym,” I’m even talking about my garage gym. 🤦‍♀️ 30 minutes of lifting, 3x a week. Just enough to check the “I work out” box, but not enough to really feel it.

But this weekend I finally got tired of my own BS and decided enough is enough. It’s comeback season, baby. 🏋️‍♀️💥

Here’s what helped me flip the switch:
👯‍♀️ A friend said she wanted to run a 5K last month, so we made a plan to sign up for a race. And we did. Accountability: activated.

🧠 Then this weekend, I was sharing my old running tips with her…and realized I was starting to forget them. Talk about a rude awakening.

💪 The next day, I had an aha moment. The only thing holding me back was ME. As soon as I recognized that, everything changed. Perimenopause, schedule, blah blah. Excuses. Once I called myself out, it was game on.

Today’s workout: 1 hour of upper body + a run on the treadmill in the garage gym. (Because 3 straight days of rain is no longer an excuse.) 🔥
