From our coaches:
We wanted to post an end-of-season (15s) summary. This was a year of growth, but we are tremendously proud of the team. One of the coach's goals this year was to foster camaraderie among the team, something that has been lacking in years past. We are incredibly young, but the gents stayed together, and this is one of the closest teams we have ever had (for as long as we have been associated with the team). The beginning of the season was tough, losing our first four games, but nobody quit, and everybody put their heads down and continued to work hard. Whether the boys knew it or not, they grew incrementally each week and each game, and it all came together yesterday against the University of Idaho. We were able to secure a hard-fought, physical win to cap off the season. It was a great way to send off our seniors and show the rest of the team their potential for future seasons. It wasn't the season we hoped for in terms of wins and losses, but it was a momentous season for club growth. We are taking the next couple of weeks off before we start the grind towards 7s and hopefully another playoff birth (which we aim to travel to this year). To everyone who came out to support yesterday, thank you. It was electric! To our seniors, thank you for never giving up and showing the new players what it means to be a Coug rugby player. You were essential in shaping the culture this year and for years to come. We hope to see many of you in the spring, and as always, Go Cougs!
