Go get your bo***es checked! 🩷
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and this one is personal for me.
My family has a TWO-TIME breast cancer survivor, and I've been tested and found to be at high risk myself. So when I remind people to take care of their bo***es, I'm not just saying it because everything is pink this month.
I know how scary the unknown can be. Sometimes making the appointment is the hardest part because we're afraid of what we might find out. But avoiding the conversation doesn't make the possibility go away.
Make the appointment. Ask the questions. Learn your family history. Talk to your healthcare provider about your personal risk and what screenings are right for you.
And let's remember that support goes beyond wearing pink. It's checking in on someone waiting for results, showing up for someone going through treatment, celebrating survivors, remembering those we've lost, and helping people get the care they need.
We've made incredible progress over the years, and I want to see that progress continue. More awareness, more research, more access to care, and more people looking out for one another.
So here's your loving reminder from me: Take care of yourself and the people you love. And if you need someone to go with you, ask. You don't have to do everything alone.
Sending lots of love to the fighters, survivors, families, caregivers, and everyone whose life has been touched by breast cancer. 🩷💛
