As our summer season begins next week, we wanted to start highlighting some of our student-athletes and the tournaments, showcases, team camps, and recruiting events they'll be attending throughout the summer.

We'll begin with members of our Class of 2027, who will compete at events across Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, and beyond over the coming months.

Over the next few days, we'll also be highlighting members of our 2028 and 2029 classes and sharing their summer schedules as well.

Pittsburgh Hardball Academy is incredibly grateful to be selected as a recipient of The DICK’S Sporting Goods Foundation Sports Matter Impact League Grant — a 3-year, $175,000 commitment to supporting our mission, including $100,000 in year one.

Last month, our leadership team and student-athletes had the opportunity to participate in The DICK’S Sporting Goods People, Purpose & Transformation Conference and speak on a panel about the impact sports and community programming can have on young people.

Being surprised with this grant announcement during the event made the experience even more special.

This support will help us continue creating opportunities for youth across Pittsburgh through baseball, softball, mentorship, education, and workforce development programming.

Congratulations to Pittsburgh Hardball Academy student-athlete Eli Kurta (Class of 2028, OF/RHP) on being selected to attend the MLB Breakthrough Series in Vero Beach, Florida!

The MLB Breakthrough Series is one of the premier development and exposure events in amateur baseball, bringing together some of the top high school players from across the country for elite instruction, competition, and professional development opportunities.

Congratulations to all of the student-athletes recognized at the 2026 All-City Awards presented by Eat’n Park Hospitality Group.

Last night, Pittsburgh Hardball Academy proudly celebrated outstanding baseball and softball student-athletes from across Pittsburgh Public Schools for their achievements on the field, in the classroom, and within their communities.

This year's event marked several important milestones, including the recognition of our first-ever All-City Softball Team and the first All-City honorees from Perry and Westinghouse.

Congratulations to our special award recipients:

City League MVP: Roman Gray (Obama)
City League Cy Young Award: Luke Ehman (Obama)
City Independent MVP: Lukas Stead (Allderdice)

Thank you to the families, coaches, educators, supporters, and community partners who joined us in celebrating these remarkable young people. We are especially grateful to Eat’n Park Hospitality Group for helping make this event possible.

Most importantly, congratulations to every All-City honoree. Your hard work, leadership, and dedication deserve to be celebrated.

Thank you to Lanista Sports for partnering with Pittsburgh Hardball Academy for a great showcase last night!

Our players had the opportunity to use technology like Rapsodo, Diamond Kinetics, and Sensi Fit to track pitching, hitting, athletic performance, and movement metrics. This showcase was the first of multiple events we’ll be hosting together to help our athletes continue to track performance, monitor development, and better understand areas they can continue improving as they work toward the next level.

Looking forward to continuing to build this partnership and create more opportunities for student-athletes in Pittsburgh!

Strong first tournament of the season for our 15U squad, finishing 4-1 and battling all the way to the championship game before falling 3-2 in a hard fought game.

A lot to build on, a lot to learn from, and a ton of improvement already showing from last year. Proud of the way this group competed all weekend long!
