Pittsburgh Harlequins https://linktr.ee/pghquins In 2015, the Association has undertaken its 18th year of uninterrupted Youth Mentoring Programs in the Pittsburgh Area.

The “Pittsburgh Harlequins Rugby Football Club” was formed in 1973 and was originally named the “University of Pittsburgh Law School Rugby Football Club”. For forty years the Club has grown in numbers and stature and, currently competes in Division 1 Men’s Club Rugby- the highest competitive level in the country. The Pittsburgh Harlequins Rugby Football Association (PHRFA) was founded in 1995 as a

501(c)3 not-for-profit youth mentoring organization. The PHRFA uses a volunteer network of nationally certified rugby coaches and players to provide community rugby programs to disadvantaged youth and teen groups throughout Allegheny County, with the goal of instilling the values that team athletics can provide, including self-confidence, leadership, and integrity. The 2015 Program includes 4 sites, 28 neighborhoods, 1500 volunteer hours, and over 200 youth from predominantly at risk communities.The Pittsburgh Harlequins help develop rugby in the Pittsburgh area through youth outreach programs, supporting High School rugby teams, university teams, and other age-grade teams.

Thank you Cleveland Crusaders U23 for making the trip down to Butler and giving us a good match! This fixture gets more competitive every year, we're already looking forward to next year's match. MOTM Charlie Joe Rosemeyer controlled the pace of play and kept the ball out of our half for most of the game. Recent NCR D3 7s national champions Chase Nething and Xavier Moyer opened up our attack in the second half and secured the win. Next week is our last U23 fixture in Buffalo against Buffalo Development Squad and Cleveland Crusaders U23.

All players are from local college programs and almost all players played high school rugby. Catch the game in person at Butler or on the couch via our Youtube livestream. The social will follow the game back in Lawrenceville at the Pitch on Butler.

🏉 Please join us in welcoming Sebastian “Seabass” Murati as the new Head Coach of IUP Rugby Football Club!

Coach Seabass brings an exceptional blend of rugby experience, player development expertise, and sports science knowledge to the program. A Doctor of Physical Therapy with advanced degrees in Bioengineering and Biomechanics, Sebastian has coached across youth, high school, and collegiate rugby throughout Western Pennsylvania — including with Aviator Rugby Academy, Slippery Rock University RFC, and the Pittsburgh Harlequins.

More importantly, he already knows the culture, the community, and many of the players who make IUP Rugby special.

Sebastian’s coaching philosophy focuses on building complete athletes through skill development, conditioning, technical precision, and injury prevention. From scrum mechanics and tackle technique to leadership and long-term player growth, he is committed to building a competitive and sustainable program both on and off the field.

We’re excited for this new chapter of IUP Rugby and can’t wait to see what Coach Seabass and our players accomplish together.

While the Men's grade season comes to an end this Saturday, we've got plenty more rugby on the way! Following a few weeks hiatus, we will return as the Pittsburgh Harlequins Men's 7s. The program is open to men's players 18 years of age and up. Players under 23 are encouraged to sign up NOW, we still have some 15s games for you.
