Good Sunday morning, everyone! As I reflect on the past week, I’m reminded of how important the people we interact with are.

Every conversation, every podcast and every person we cross paths with can leave an impact on our lives.

Take a moment today to appreciate those people and the difference they make.

Have a great Sunday!

A big congratulations to our friend Roy Davis on this beautiful buck mount! Great taxidermy does more than preserve an animal, it lets us relive the hunt, the memories, and the story every single day. Awesome buck, Roy!

This week on the Accessible Hunter Podcast, we welcome Lasha Barbosa!

Lasha has an incredible story of resilience, survival, and rediscovering the healing power of the outdoors.

Born in Whitehorse, Yukon, and raised in a wall tent while traveling through rural communities across northern Canada, Lasha’s early life was deeply connected to the land. After a devastating brain tumor diagnosis, and life-changing surgery that left her mute and facing lasting challenges, she found herself drawn back outside.

Touching the grass. Feeling the wind. Holding a rock. Harvesting berries.

Those simple moments helped reconnect her with the outdoors and eventually led her into hunting, trapping, conservation, and using her artwork to give back to the outdoor community.

Today, Lasha and her husband, caregiver, and interpreter Chris continue to prove that challenges don’t have to mean the end of your adventures.

Her message is one we can all get behind:

Nature is powerful medicine. Get outside. Find your place.

We talk about her incredible journey, the Taber Pheasant Festival, Women Hunt, conservation, Field-to-Fork hunting in Texas, the importance of caregivers, and why getting back outside can change everything.

And we finish with a question that perfectly captures what Accessible Hunter is all about.

No matter how you get there, GET THERE.

September is Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month.

Spinal cord injuries may change how we move, but they don’t define where we can go or what we can do. This month, we recognize the strength, resilience, and determination of the SCI community while continuing to push for greater awareness, accessibility, and inclusion.

NO MATTER HOW YOU GET THERE, GET THERE.
