Blue Water Park is a quarry turned scuba dive and recreational facility. Now open to scuba divers, technical divers, freedivers, kayakers, and paddle boarders, BWP is a full service facility offering air fills, rental equipment, retail, and small repairs on site. For the convenience of our guests, we also have changing facilities, restrooms, and a selection of snacks and beverages for purchace. We

offer both scuba certification classes and paddle board yoga classes throughout the summer. The quarry itself is ranges from 4 feet to 140 feet with an average depth of 100 feet. Visibility is approximately 25 feet in the summer and 50 feet to 100 feet in the winter. During the summer months, the surface temperature is approximately 86 F. The bottom temperature always ranges from 52 F to 54 F, with two or three thermoclines (depending on the time of year). Purchased by Mark DiGiorgio (owner of Scuba Ventures in Vestavia Hills) in 2015, the quarry has undergone some major improvements over the past few years and continues to have upgrades added frequently.
