Folks, meet your local neighborhood bartender Paul. He's the best kind of weird, and a phenomenal bartender, wait until you see the drinks he comes out with. He did leave one thing out on his resume.... He worked for Dharma Lim in the famous and legendary Grand China. But here's his stuff....

Paul has spent over two decades in the service industry, most notably as the bartender/owner of Tokyo Japanese Steakhouse in Salem, NH for more than 18 years. His Mai Tais are legendary—at least that's what people keep telling him after their third one.

Behind the bar, Paul specializes in crafting cocktails, telling terrible jokes, wearing questionable t-shirts, and pretending he doesn't overhear the awkward conversation at the bar. He also claims to know the lyrics to every song on the jukebox, although eyewitness accounts suggest otherwise.

When he's not slinging drinks, you'll probably find him at a local pub enjoying trivia, stand-up comedy, live music, or—most likely—butchering a classic karaoke song. As a part-time karaoke host known as DJ PAL, he's dedicated to helping others make the same musical mistakes he's been making for years.

Whether you're looking for a great drink, a bad joke, or someone to convince you that singing Journey is a fantastic idea, Paul's got you covered.

Remember: drink responsibly, sing irresponsibly, and tip recklessly.

It's summer!!!!! and it's gorgeous.
About two years ago, the Mayor of Capital City Billiards , Kathryn Brooks-Miller and I decided that Sundays were best to be closed. We open many times throughout the year for functions and events, but for the most part, we use that time to play catch up, and spend time with family.
I am about half way through the creation of a Strokers in house CASH league on Wednesdays (ask for Jeff) and we'll get it going ASAP, but until then we're going to go the same route that we traveled at Cap City.
So effective today, Strokers will stay closed on Wednesdays until the league gets up and running or through the summer months, whichever is first. We've never had a 6 day week at strokers so it's weird but who really wants to play pool on a day like today? We'll keep everyone in the loop along the way and as always....
Thank you ALL for ALL you do!!! Without you we are an empty room (except for Wednesdays, where we'll be an empty room).

"I don't know anything about that"

"None of my business"

"Don't believe what you read"

"Don't believe what you hear"

"They'll reach out if they want to share"

All great ways to keep yourselves from falling to a pit of rumors and drama. I know it's a national past time, and the days of the gossip circles at beauty parlors have evolved quite a bit.
But in the age of "lightening speed telephone" it becomes so easy to overlook who you're hurting, talking about, and very possibly defaming (it's also the age of the "lightning lawsuit").
Swirling drama about folks made by other folks can really hurt the former folks.
I'm fairly certain that no one wants to talk about things that they don't want to talk about. Someone wants to approach you with anything, they're going to. But if they don't, you don't know the truth, you weren't there, you're hurting people....
In the years that I've owned these pool rooms, I've seen so much swirl around that. I don't follow anyone on social media. Someone may come up to me and say hey, did you read what so and so put on their page? Did you read the comments on this post?
I'm proud to say no, because someone's personal life is personal. They are the only ones who know the truth, and have the option to share it they want to.
We're all grown ups, many of us have children of social media age. Let's teach our kids right. And let's respect the privacy of others.
