ISMA-MSS has received word that Noel Dawson has passed away.

Noel served as the tech-inspection and rules compliance official for the ISMA-MSS Supermodified Organization throughout the 2026 season. A longtime member of the racing community, Noel was truly excited for the opportunity to be part of ISMA-MSS and to contribute to the organization and the sport he cared so much about.

His passion for racing, dedication to the sport, and willingness to lend a hand will be remembered and greatly missed by the entire ISMA-MSS family.

We extend our deepest condolences to Noel’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time.

God Speed Noel. You will be missed. 🏁

With the unfortunate cancelation of the Caraway race, this now becomes the ONLY place to race and see Supermodifieds in early November.
The last ISMA MSS Supermodifieds race of 2026 will be Championship night at Evans Mills Raceway Park for the John Burr Classic September 19th 2026.

OPEN WHEEL SHOWDOWN REOPENS SUPER MODIFIED ENTRIES AHEAD OF LARRY TRIGUEIRO MEMORIAL THIS NOVEMBER

LAS VEGAS, NV – With recent scheduling changes in the Super Modified season, promoter Davey Hamilton, Jr. and officials from the OnlyBulls Open Wheel Showdown have re-opened registration for the Super Modified portion of the pavement racing showcase. The 2nd Annual Larry Trigueiro Memorial had already reached its 35 car limit, serving as the largest Super Modified event in North America. The field will now expand to a limit of 50 cars for the coveted race at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Drivers and teams may enter at www.openwheelshowdown.com Entries are non-refundable.

Open Wheel Showdown Super Modifieds race for $10,000 to win and $1,200 to start on November 5-7. The rules package invites East Coast Supers to take on the best in the West.

New Yorkers Dave Danzer and Otto Sitterly won the first two editions before Indiana’s Kevin Newton prevailed in 2025.

Host hotel reservations are available through the Southpoint Hotel & Casino. A kick-off gala will be held Wednesday night, November 4, at the Southpoint to open the Open Wheel Showdown week in Las Vegas.

Speed Sport returns as the media partner with live coverage of the race on both Speed Sport 1 and Speed Sport 2, with a full broadcast schedule to be announced.

Thursday is the optional practice day racing action heats up on November 6 and 7.

Michael Barnes started on the pole and mixed it up throughout the race with Mike Ordway Jr. and others at the front of the field. He said the car was too free, which kept him from contending for the win, but he was still happy to bring home a third‑place finish at Oswego Speedway.

Jeffrey Battle Charges Late to Score First ISMA-MSS Victory at Oswego Speedway

OSWEGO, N.Y. — Jeffrey Battle chased down Mike Ordway Jr. in the closing laps of Sunday’s Supermodified Challenge Race #3 50 at Oswego Speedway, making the winning pass with less than five laps remaining to capture his first career ISMA-MSS Supermodified Series victory in Round 9 of the 2026 season.
