Not sure why the city of Novato does this but closing early today for a parade in festival on Grant Avenue. Streets will be closed side roads will be closed. You may not be able to get to our back gate so we’re closing today at 3:30. It doesn’t seem like customers will be able to get to us. Sorry for any inconvenience hoping again tomorrow 10 AM.

Do you know what the nationwide charge is to fill a Scuba tank? Then consider we live in the most expensive state in the union. Our shop has never raised air fill prices since 2018 even though our expenses and overhead has tripled. We’re announcing today our new air fill pricing. 


Cost Breakdown & Details

• Operational Hard Costs: The actual expense for a dive shop to provide a regular air fill ranges from $15 to $21 per tank. This covers electricity, specialized high-pressure filters, compressor oil, building insurance tied to the compressor, and trained staff for maintenance.
• Pricing Variations:
• Many shops charge lower promotional or loss-leader rates (such as $8 to $12) to draw divers into the store for gear sales or classes.
• Specialty gases like Nitrox or custom gas mixes cost more than a standard air fill.
• Many centers offer punch cards, fill cards, or annual memberships that lower the per-tank cost.
• Legal Requirements: Dive shops cannot legally fill a tank without proof of current visual inspection (VIP) and hydrostatic testing (typically required every five years).
