Let’s face it…. gas is expensive and no one likes waiting in the car line to pick up those kiddos. We’ve got great kid haulin’, cargo carryin’ options to solve both those problems with the Aventon Abound LR & SR Cargo e-Bikes!
Both the LR and SR have been very popular this past year and we can understand why. Besides the high utilitarian value of cargo bikes, the Aventon Abound is especially fun with nimble and 20” wheels, front suspension, adjustable stem, and suspension seatpost for added adjustability and comfort.

Happy New Bike Day to Deb with her new Santa Cruz Bicycles Skitch e-Bike! Deb’s hubby Dave is one of our favorite customers and is a serious rider who wanted to start sharing his rides with Deb who hasn’t been on a bike in a while. We decided a super nice and lightweight Carbon e-Bike with flat handlebars was the way to go so they could both enjoy their rides together! With a range of up to 60 miles per charge and a max assist speed of 28mph, we think Dave is going to have his work cut out for him trying to keep up with her!

Sunday is the local XC race the Sugar Bottom Scramble! We’ll be out there cheering everyone on and supporting racers. We will also have the all new Santa Cruz Bicycles BLUR and TALLBOY for people to try out on the trails! Make sure to stop by if you’re interesting in trying out these new shred sleds on the trails. We’ve got the all new Sparrow 50 Gold Wheels in stock! These wheels have the aerodynamic edge that rivals the best out there but with the vibration damping you can only achieve through Berd’s amazing dyneema spokes. Anyone that’s ridden chunky gravel at high speeds will tell you that aerodynamics won’t help you a whole lot without comfort and good rolling resistance. Now you can have the best of both worlds.
Did we mention they are extremely lightweight at only 1298 grams?! 🤯.
Another thing we love about these wheels is that Berd worked closely with to optimize these wheels with 45-55mm tires, specifically one of our favorites, the G-One RS Pro! Pair these wheels with the 45mm RS Pro for optimal aerodynamics, the 55mm for optimal comfort and rolling resistance, or the 50mm for the best of both worlds! Shout out to Avery and Norah who just took 1st and 2nd Place in the Middle School overall series of the Iowa Scholastic Mountain Bike League on their Orbea Alma Hardtails! These girls love to have fun and never stop chatting, even when they’ve got it pinned to the max in the middle of a race 😂.
Both girls worked super hard this year and also upgraded to lightweight carbon bikes for the first time. It’s important to train and have fun but there’s no denying that a lightweight carbon bike makes a HUGE difference when it comes to results 💨 🪶!

Happy New Bike Day Jeff! We recently got another beautiful custom Orbea MyO bike in the shop this week! This time it’s the new Orbea Terra Race. We worked with Jeff on mulling over a couple different options for bikes and after a bit of deliberation we came up with the Terra Race as the best choice for his specific wants. This steed will be pulling double duty as a super fast gravel bike and [also super fast] road bike. It’s got geometry that works well for both and yet has plenty of clearance for 48mm WAM (width as measured) gravel tires.
Jeff broke it in proper by hopping right on it to help push the pace of our Wednesday Night Gravel “A” ride. Look out if you plan on riding with Jeff anytime soon, he’s definitely feeling extra speedy on this lightweight rocket 💨!

NEW TALLBOY! It’s been a while since we had a Santa Cruz Bicycles Tallboy in the shop. I guess you could say we were waiting patiently for this perfect bike to drop! While the Tallboy has always been one of our favorite fun and capable bikes, this new model has lightened up a little bit and upped the travel at the same time for the perfect mix of lightweight and confidence inspiring control and stability.
Now with four-bar suspension and 140mm F/130mm R travel, the Tallboy still gives that firm pedaling platform riders are used to, with some added traction, bump compliance, and braking performance that some may have felt the previous Tallboy lacked. And how about that color!
Stop in for a test ride, or better yet demo this bike and take it to your favorite trail system!

Happy New Custom Bike Day to our new friend Margie! We just finished working with Margie on her super classy new custom Orbea Oiz M-Team AXS. We think this might be one of the classiest most well thought out MyO program bikes we’ve seen in a while. Sometimes it can be overwhelming with all the color and customization options but she played it cool and kept it simple and stylish with this white and gold theme. We really like the ability to customize the rim color accents and we think the gold rims look amazing paired with the FOX Kashima coated suspension and dropper post. She even added a little customization on the chainstay that pays homage to one of Dubuque’s most notorious singetrack trails. We can’t wait to hear about how “The Queen of FDR” rips on this beauty!
